That doesn’t mean that you have a 50% chance of getting it.
That’s…not how math and probability works.
Does anyone else agree that increasing the drop rate % ONLY on first kill of the account is bad?
Person A has 1 single character, and his love rocket attempts all have an 1% chance; person B has 33 characters and 15 of his attempts have an 1% chance and the other 480 have a 0,03% chance, to me it means person A’s time is in blizzard’s opinion massively more valuable than person B’s time.
Not to mention, some of you will be well aware that an 1% drop is nowhere near enough to guarantee the mount in a year, or even a handful of years.
Wouldn’t it be better to give perhaps a more moderate increase but to every single try, particularly wouldn’t it be a fairer solution?
For example the standard drop rate is 0,03%, making it 0,3% (10 times as much) would give a really really serious chance to get it if you’re doing a few hundreds runs per year, which has become more reasonable nowadays, when a lot of people have many characters.
I got the carpet drop today after 27 attempts…I am done now…

I didn’t even get it from the fight. Mine came from an egg… or maybe it was the basket you get from the fight quest turn-in? Anyways, only fought the boss three times, maybe, since I rarely see who’s bringing the egg to the nest.
On a side note, I saw people gathered around the nest every time, and was wondering, does anyone have an estimate for how many people probably think there’s a weird spawn-timer, and have no idea how the boss is actually summoned?
Yes the carpet comes from the basket you get when you turn in the quest you get for the egg you loot off the Duck Boss…

I just thought they added another mechanism to collect it, but it was the quest item that the boss drops. Maybe wishful thinking on my part.
I remember you being a serious collector and that we were talking about those late drop rate increases in the world boss thread, and I also noticed you don’t have the rocket yet, so I was wondering, do you agree these drop rate increases ONLY at the first kill per day on account aren’t the right solution, because they make so that lucky people get the mount with very low effort (a run per day), but unlucky people are still easily able to miss the mount on a given year?
I personally would increase the drop rate on each kill by a lower amount, example a 0,3% drop rate on all kills feels much better to me than an 1% on first kill and rest 0,03% for people with many chars, and why shouldn’t people who put in the time and effort to level and run with many chars have a better chance?

I may have gotten the love rocket this year, but my heart still hurts from how blizzard treated us over this event

Ok so now with pandaria remix and us being able to BUY the heavenly onyx cloud serpent (which in comparison to the x45 is a LOT easier to get, due to it being farmable every single week of the year), there is ZERO excuse to not put the x45 on a vendor for currency also.
This has set a precedent and so many of us, me included have been crying out to blizzard for this.
For the love of gosh do this blizzard!!!

Blizz has never responded to our objections from what 2-3 years ago. I wouldn’t expect anything now.

It’s still my go to mount and I haven’t farmed another mount since getting it this year (on the last day of the event).
But when I do mount I do think of Naamah and how unfair this grind is.
Respect to those still heartbroken.
