i mean, is there a drop rate less than 100% that people would accept here? it doesn’t sound like it
You’re correct, we expected a bad luck protection, even among us some wont accept a drop rate increase for any attempt, that’s the problem with RNG, some people will tolerate the new values and others not.
Besides all that I mentioned about the event, fight… Etc, I expected BLP, since Chimes mentioned fustration from alts runs and other things to do during the event., we got a fix that’s just provided the same RNG, maybe less due to 1 attempt boost but for players invested on this it didn’t fix anything, if Devs mentioned first attempt has 30%,maybe i’ll only do 1 per day, but since we dont even know that value, its better to run all alts.
I’ll probably get the mount if it was increased for all drops due to my amount of attempts, but that’s not 100% sure… We’re tired of massive rng in this game

numbers would be nice yeah. They said drastically improved. If the chance was even 1%, and I argue it was less, then a 5% chance is drastically improved.

IDEA:
Quest chain to get a “special item” (a gem or something) that would increase your drop chance by 5%
(or some % increase that would be reasonable)

The decision to not increase the droprate to 1% for all attempts (to be in line with other holiday mounts) was such a mistake. I’m not discouraged AT ALL to keep going even after the 1st box of the day. I have 64 characters who can run this. What if it’s the next one? All it does is leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth when it doesn’t drop from that initial box that is supposedly a greater chance. I’m currently at 3375 attempts (running total since I installed Rarity in MoP) across my now-64 characters on my accounts and I can feel my sanity slowly wither away with every lovely rose or toxic oozing that jebaits me as the mount continues to elude me. I don’t even count on getting it this year.

I completely agree, Am running 60. Contemplated more but would have to throw resubs at this. Am down from 97 daily last couple years. It’s a sour taste and soul numbingly bad RNG. I am expecting not to get it but if it happens than cool. Thing is in another 2 years the alts will have to be releveled to the new level cap minimum, all ready have a bit of burnout from that also. GL.

I agree. I don’t know much about the community council but do you guys as council have the ability to get a response from blizzard to hotfix this with the few days left in the event?
Yeah that’s my mindset 100%. I am not expecting it. If it drops, I will do a nerd scream, take a screenshot, make a twitter post, and then likely not use the mount again after that. It doesn’t feel fun or exciting, it just feels like it’s going to be a “thank God I don’t have to keep spending 4 hours a day trying to get this” type of deal. And I know my sentiment is shared amongst other mount farmers who have obtained this one.

How do you keep track of attempts?
Not really. It’s more like formulating our thoughts in the void via the forums and hope a dev wants to put their thoughts into it. We don’t have a direct pipeline or anything as Council members. It is simply a pool of players willing to discuss their thoughts (or what they’d like to do) on varying aspects of the game and try to have an open discussion amongst other members and devs.

I use an addon called Rarity! It’s essntial for anyone who wants to track their (bad) luck at collecting mounts, pets, and toys - basically rare drops.

it’s always better to run all alts, for more or less the same reason buying a single lottery ticket gives you a much better chance of winning than buying zero.

So like instead of 0.000000078% its now 0.00025%? Cause theoretically that is in fact a greatly increased drop rate when you eliminate that many zeros.
