If it makes anyone who is currently salty feel better, there will still be people who don’t get the mount this year unless the drop rate is close to 100%.
Aww don’t worry you’ll still look so cute on the flying carpet. Bunny Cow Aladdin coming to theaters near you!
Well all one thing for sure you all won’t have me to compete against you for the drop…got mine last year…
You were very lucky to get this with 150-200 attempts. The pre-2023 drop rate is estimated to be somewhere around 1 in 3000 to 1 in 5000.
15 attempts a year is just over 100 attempts after 7 years. If the drop has been bumped to 1% (we really don’t know what it’s been bumped to). There’s no guarantee of course that doing this 100 times gets you the mount as that’s not how RNG works… but it does mean that out of every 100 ‘first boxes of the day’ on average, SOMEONE will get the mount.
But that was not the point I was making at all.
Oooh sorry I was talking about the HH mount which has a 1% drop rate so 1 in 200 is around the average to see it drop, not the love rocket which is 1 in 3333ish.
I’ve had thousands upon thousands of attempts at the love rocket and no dice I have been one of the ones throwing over 50 toons at it a day year after year after year (used to have 2 accounts before I quit WoW about a year and a half to 2 years ago) and never seen it drop.
While I am glad that the drop rate has been increased for those who want this mount (I personally don’t see what the fuss/appeal over this particular mount is but to each their own).
However,
…yikes
“We’ve heard”…yeah they never provide the % rate, therefore; I’m planning to run this with 52 alts as always, 1 boost attempt per day isn’t enough.
I was more implying with my post that it’s gross that people feel “forced/pressured/obligated/etc…” to be running this event dungeon dozen(s) of times per day.
Does this change also affect Wrath Classic, or is the drop rate unchanged from the old 0.1%?
This changes nothing for most players. I’m going to get on each day, have my one good attempt (whatever that means), most likely not get it, and then still slog through all my other characters every day.
You say you understand the frustration of feeling compelled to do the content on several characters, but this change does nothing at all to alleviate it. This is worse than leaving it alone. How did this idea make it out of the Zoom meeting alive?
Here’s how it should work. Do whatever you want with the drop chance. Buff it, nerf it, leave it alone, whatever. But only give me one shot per day. And after one kill, give me a loot roll for every eligible character I have.
I’d rather kill it once, and get twenty 1/2000 rolls than to have one 1/100 roll, and then still have to suffer another nineteen 1/2000 kills.
It’s not about getting it. If I don’t get it, that’s ok. It’s about QoL. I’ve played this game since vanilla. I’m an old guy now with a family, a job, a mortgage, responsibilities. And sure, I’m not entitled to get whatever I want for no effort. I just want you to be aware that your player base has evolved. And doing this event twenty times a day isn’t effort. It’s just time. I’m willing to put in effort for rewards, or live without the rewards. But if you want to make me happy, just be more respectful of my time.
It’ll always be Love Rocket to me, but X-45 Heartbreaker is a pretty cool name as well. Very apt too.
this is bs you guys said you were putting it on the vendor i have been waiting a year to be able to earn tokens and buy it off the vendor and not have to farm it any more.
I never farmed for that mount on any character because I just didn’t see the appeal in the mount. However now they’ll at least get me to run it once a day because I got nothing else to do(thanks DF!).
How does the change stop this, exactly?
If I don’t get the mount from my first, boosted chance box every day, I’m still going to feel obligated to run my army of alts through for the normal drop-rate boxes every single day of the holiday like I have for the last decade. :x
They don’t understand players at all…I’m doing my 51 attempts after the first “increase” attempt, because I want the mount and I won’t just trust the single boosted attempt.
Just do the one char and maybe a handful of others. This isn’t worth burning yourself out on, frens.
Good Luck all…
While i genuinely love that this change occured, why would you not just increase the rate as a whole to maybe 1% and then let those who have alts farm for this? I hate to complain but this doesn’t really help those that are trying to farm it and it doesn’t help those that are incredibly discouraged from farming it due to the absurd drop chance after the once a day option.
This new change doesn’t really reduce pressure but also makes farming really discouraging still. This mount should be made like the other holiday mounts or really any mount for that matter should be farmable to some extent and this change makes it kind of useless for us to run the dungeon on our alts.
Think rather than 1 massive boost maybe do a normal boost to 1% and make it available in every first day container for each character would be fitting
They really need to reconsider the whole reward structure…nothing should be less that 1% drop minimum.
