Trying this spec to see if it’s really as bad as they say… And it is. Why does Stormstrike hit for 350k and Lava Lash hit for less than 1m on average??? These are purely melee range only abilities that are very hard to actually connect compared to a warrior who has insane mobility and lockdown while every one of their button presses hits for 3m+???
Everyone says the problem with Enhance is that you can’t connect but that’s not even true. Even when you connect your abilities do nothing. This is just a worse version of Ret in almost every possible way. Ret gets freedom and steed AND 20 yard range on all their abilities, yet their abilities still hit harder than enhance melee only abilities??? Huh???
BTW, yes I know the gimmick here is the burst on short cooldown but it’s not very impressive. It can force defensives with wolves + prim wave usually but it’s just a meme that everyone can see coming from miles away.
Good question. It feels okay at the moment. They nerfed lava lash a little too much, but it’s somewhat, slightly playable. The spec has been worse in the past, but it could use some buffs.
I’m still having fun. I played a BGB just now and my healing is pretty decent with recent maelstrom buff.
Look, I can see how you’re making this work in BGB, the utility is obviously great and in BG’s you have downtime in between fights to get your burst back. And I’m not very good at the spec yet so I understand it’s a high skill cap spec. BUT
I really don’t understand how this could ever work in shuffle without any consistent damage output and just an easily predictable and avoidable burst window every 30 seconds.
In BGB imbalance is less noticeable. Last time I played a shuffle it seemed pretty much where it’s at most of the time. Middle of the pack with room to excel if you’re extremely good at the game.
As an enh main all I can really hope for is that the spec is playable and Blizzard doesn’t completely forget about us because it’s very niche.
Nah bro I don’t agree. This spec is absolutely dogwater.
I dropped to 1600mmr and I’m still going 0-6 in my lobbies LMAO
I got 2.4 my first season playing outlaw, learnt the spec from scratch but picked it up pretty quick
same as pres evoker, 2.3 my first time playing it with no experience, Survival, warrior, unholy dk, boomy (so easy), ele (so easy), blah blah blah I’ve tried almost everything and can play anything to at least a duelist level
Lots of specs I can pick up the first time and it doesn’t take me long to get a feel for it and play it at a semi-decent level
This spec is different bro, I can’t believe how unplayable this garbage is. I didn’t think it was possible for me to tank below baseline mmr but here we are.
It’s basically just a pray other people in your lobbies don’t have hands kind of spec. I have a 65% wr at 2.4K in shuffle and I consistently ended lobbies with 20%+ less damage than everyone else. I play pure stormbringer though so maybe it’s easier as totemic, but you auto lose into every other melee if they bother to train you (which they should).
I guess that’s half my problem right now. Every single lobby has some awful brainless hardstuck 1600 fury player who just deletes me in 2 button presses.
Deeply rooted elements. It’s the thing that makes ascendance randomly proc. It’s tuned for spending 10MSW every 2nd or 3rd global though (idk why). I only play on-use ascend as a result unfortunately
Enhance is definitely struggling atm relative to most other classes. Also, it’s niche of being a melee that has utility to beat up casters isn’t even fulfilling because it gets thrashed by meta melee dps and ele does everything enhance does better.
Idk if you watch streams ever, but askronnie and saul both stream and play in shuffle and 3s at the top of the ladder (ronnie got literal r1 world ladder the other day as enh, not sure if he’s still there).
I’m sure they’d be more than willing to give pointers!
Idk about this week but last week anytime Saul queued enh he’d stop after a few games cause it was so miserable. Ronnie seems to be having fun with totemic though
Yeah i copied sauls build but i defnitely gotta watch some gameplay because somethings not right
There’s a lot I’m doing well, like high amount of windshears, shutting down goes with guardians cudgel and grounding, keeping my flame shocks up, dispelling hexes and havocs, tremoring fears and sleeps, sometimes getting 3 man primordial wave + primordial storm cleaves on my big go
But it’s still not good enough, when i’m wasting so many gcd’s on utility, i just fall behind in dps which is really the only thing that matters at the end of the day, especially in 1600mmr solo shuffle
If i try to just focus on damage, I will never be able to keep up with braindead fury warriors
I dont understand the win condition on this dog water spec
That’s what I hear many people say. It just has weird win conditions especially in shuffle. In 3s it’s much easier if you just play turbo, but in shuffle there are things you can and can’t do and it changes who you’re up against.
Let’s say you’re up against warrior ww, theyre most likely going to go after you and you won’t be able to trade damage. So, to save your healer a heart attack, you have to be like “okay I can’t live this damage I’m going to kite them into a bad spot and deny them as much damage as possible.” Theres a lot of small things like that, which take practice to learn.
