so I assume you’re aware you just lied right… there is no eagle eyeing across the zone. The view distance is literally from the ramp in booty bay where the NPC’s and buildings are to the Ramp start that goes up. everything disappear past that point and my graphics are maxed… so what game you playing? You walling in PUBG too?
The rogue shows up on the “nearby” list of the addon whenever he’s detected (as will any other players) and will stay there for 1/2/5/30 mins depending on the settings.
A sound is played and on-screen message is displayed when an enemy druid or rogue goes in stealth.
That’s all this addon does, and somehow that’s too much for the OP.

I dont think of it as a crutch, Its just another visual on the ui.
Thats like saying any PvE healer who raids and uses healing addons is using a crutch.

I agree with you in principle. However
We do draw a line. Wallhacking is technically a simple use of the game’s code, but we do not accept it. Cross-faction collaboration does not manipulate the game’s code at all, and we still don’t allow it. The classic LFG mod from a few weeks ago, despite not violating the EULA, was found to be inconsistent with the “spirit” of the game and broken.
So does this mod also cross the - admittedly arbitrary - line in the sand? Maybe.
Because why should you get a free alert for that?
Addons exactly like this have been in game forever. I remember using one like it way back in BC and it automatically announced in general chat the name, class, level, and approximate location of any enemy player that was detected. It wasn’t game breaking then and it isn’t game breaking now.
I do find it amusing, however, that all the threads I’ve seen complaining about this addon have been made by almost entirely horde players - the same faction that holds the majority on almost all PvP servers.
OMFG the one class I hadn’t played gets a further viewing range than every other class… imagine being such a pathetic piece of crap that you enter a thread in which you haven’t read any of the content of and then proclaim to insult me over the already stated I started WoW… when WoW Classic launched. it’s been repeated like 40 times.
You do know that the game itself plays a sound when a rogue or druid who is stealthed is near you, right…? It’s not a “free alert” when it’s something already in game without the addon.
They’ll show up where they were detected, BTW they’ll also show up for a hunter who has track humanoids detected(guess that’s a hack to). And all that will show up is your location on the map where they were detected, you don’t get to somehow see exactly where they are for 30 minutes.
game doesn’t play a sound when a mage with a buff gets within the 100 yard range or w/e the radar is… yet everytime someone enters that field beep beep

i mean you wont hear rogues stealth from 30 yards away without the addon the addon plays the stealth sound file if a rogue stealths within its pickup range
If you don’t know what something is, you should probably try to look it up before assuming what it is and making a fool of yourself when you completely misundertand it and base your post on that misunderstanding.

Can’t wait til you learn of minimap tracking for hunters. It’s just about everything you’re crying about in this thread, except it’s an in-game ability.
I will say one thing… I mean at least when I’m here not playing the game it’s because I’m on the fence of moving on and not playing it… imagine enjoying the game but being so bored you have spent hours on the forums trying to argue over doing something more enjoyable with your time. LUL.
I’m leveling fishing while I’m being entertained by this dumpster fire of a thread. I’d say it’s pretty enjoyable. And relaxing too, especially after I got to clear this lvl 60 hunter bullying the alliance around Southshore.

but the sky could be purple if I download an addon in the form of tinted sunglasses. Maybe someone who needs third party software to play their game shouldn’t criticize others who haven’t used 15 years in the game.
