but sure if I had my way we’d have 450, 500 and 550 tomorrow, and 600 whenever the next patch adds adequate number of mounts

What does a new player joining have to do with anything? Those people who have the high mount totals worked extremely hard to get there, so should any new player. You want some kind of shortcuts?

Store mounts do not count toward mount achievements, I am almost 100% sure on that.
We are on the same wavelength, 100% agree here.
BfA seasonal 1400 rating mounts are being added to vicious saddle vendor in 9.1, according to PTR.
TCG is only 17 mounts lol, so pay-to-win just sounds ridiculous, sorry.
I respect all posts here by the way, not attacking anyone or anything, just saying, 600 is achievable. I believe I am 8 or so away from it. I started collecting in Legion, and I usually only play 1 year or so of an expansion, since Legion. Prior to that, well, I have very little time put in and did not collect anything.

Since no player power is tied to these achievements & rewards I don’t see any issue with creating the achievements.
Similar to rewards such as mythic raid mount drops - at first only a small % will have them, but over time it becomes easier to get and more people have a chance.
600 mounts when there’s only 750 in game is tough.
600 mounts several expansions from now when there’s 1200 in game is not as bad.
There was a time when even the 200 mount achieve was a rare thing to see.
I think it makes sense from a game and business sense too - always have the next reward for people to chase to keep them engaged.

but going off SA, my profile has 646 total - 16 tcg - 21 store - 19 misc = 590 < 600
SA isn’t entirely accurate since it doesn’t count some mounts like legion class mounts but I don’t believe the error is larger than 26, ergo you can likely only reach 600 if you pay for the tcg mounts (tcg and bmah are by all means a proxy of the blizz store)
either way idc about it, my position is clear and by the time the new achievements are added we’ll have enough ingame mounts to achieve 600 without pay to win and that’s the only thing that matters to me

I respect your position and thought process. And, yes, you are absolutely right that by next expansion, 600 will easily be achievable without all of those mounts.

You would think Blizzard would see a player with a high number of achievements or (in this case) mounts would be a huge sign of loyalty since they’re a huge time sink. When Blizzard and I stopped sharing that point of view I stopped chasing the carrot.
I want the next milestone achievement mount to shine in the dark and throw fireworks from its ars… Dooo it!

Game over boys, Looks like we ‘won’ the collection game.
The threads related to this topic are highly viewed and commented on relative to other posts in the achievements forum.
Kind of a head scratcher considering how simple it must be to add new ranks to an existing achievement with some unused recolored mount as the reward.

The top collector currently has 652 character mounts. If they’re going to do infrequent updates to these achieves, I hope they add achieves through 700/750 to hold people over until the next achieve update.

i see, Why not go buy the mounts in auction house or others from black market. This may be a good idea on info. They will come back later in patch to update it.

Noticed this on the PTR earlier too. Really hoping that Blizzard adds a new mount achievement here. Getting close to having 500 usable mounts on my main now.
