Ive been playing cata nonstop for the past decade. I already “found out”. Your friend is wrong, trust me. Im betting he hasnt played cata since 2012. The meta has changed significantly since then.
Not saying rogues arent also S tier. They are. But so are Paladins.

Its evolved. No one knew what they were doing back in 4.3 live. Same thing happened in 3.3.5 on warmane, and how Preg/Enhance was discovered and the meta evolved there too.
10+ years of experimenting on the same patch tends to do that.

Wotlk is so dead at this point they might as well just end it tomorrow and bring on cata pre patch.
Yehmi is one of those folks. He kind of just talks down anyone who likes or wants permanent wrath classic servers as a permanent option currently.

I sold a Pristine Black Diamond to someone doing their Pally mount quests for 200g a couple of weeks ago. XD
Not sure if you’ve been paying attention, but since late Shadowlands Blizz HAS been adding old content back; it started with all the recipes from the original ZG, now old Naxx and Scholo are in the game, and apparently they’re going to be adding back in the pre-MoP Scarlet Monastery at some point soon.
Fwiw it’d make working on my army of alts slightly easier; instead of maybe running to Wetlands to get a couple of levels before getting the last bit of Redridge done I could just blast through a couple of zones and then run around finishing up my second Blacksmith. 
I mean, SoD is the flavour of the week, so of course it’s pulling people away. But a big source of player dropoff in Wrath is the knowledge that its all going away. Doesn’t feel like there’s a point for the people who were settling in to just play Wrath for years.
They should just turn a couple low pop servers into permanent Wrath servers, let people transfer on or off as desired and continue on to Cata with the rest of them 
(And as someone who is trying to finish more Wrath Hardcore runs, give me all the time possible before Wrath goes away, please, I’m nowhere near done 
)

Yeah, it’s killed a lot of guilds, my own included. Too many people misguidedly interested in something that’s actually and objectively not interesting. They just don’t realize it yet.

Feelings are not facts, no matter how strong or even shared they may be.
I know what words mean. Level 25 in any version of classic is objectively not interesting or fun. Especially as a mana user.

After reading the internet for years and reading polls about people’s beliefs on many subjects I’ve become convinced that a huge minority or perhaps even a majority of people just don’t have the education or intelligence to understand.
So people are butthurt about not being able to live in a time capsule for the rest of existence?
Pretty sure “objectively” doesn’t mean “this is my overly-inflated opinion on something.”
Which is strange, since the internet itself should be used as a way to solve that problem instead of…everything else that happens on it, anyway.
