Actually, it’s subscribe to play. The base game is free. You have to buy expacs, but that’s a lot of mmorpgs. So by your logic, they have picked 2 and discarded 1.
That right there is why i want to learn the art of ah flipping
If the execs were smart, they’d keep it as it were before: buy to play and subscription.
But I know they want better revenue growth. Which means they’ll have all 3 of those going forward, with perhaps more intensity with micro transactions.
WoW is no where close to having the cash shop of a ftp mmo.
you can use b-net balance, which you can use game play tokens to fund
game play tokens, or b-net balance again
oh, what do you know, you can use game play tokens, and b-net here too.
ummm, seems to me i had to pay for the base game, but got 1 month free sub with it.
For the new expansion I payed using in game gold. So, I played the game and I got the expansion for free. I think things are ok.
I’d like to either buy the xpac or monthly sub, but not both. Buying the xpac should include prompt bug and exploit fixes and well monitored class/spec balancing.
Depends how long ago you started. The base game used to be $20, it has since been made free, only a sub required.
Depends on how they roll out gear systems in Shadowlands.
I work long hours but still do some Mythic raiding. I’ve had extremely bad luck with corruption affixes so I eventually just dropped a bunch of tokens to buy myself a rank 3 Infinite Stars for raiding.
…expect more of this to happen if gear in Shadowlands has so many levels of RNG.
The model works, why change it?
Some ppl just feel the need to complain or don’t really understand economics.
Which is still no where close to the cash shop others have.
I am over here trying to get rid of my IS r3 for raiding.
Just some 8 hours after posting my rig is a brick now as the power light wont turn on and the power cord is working just fine. It was only $400 so not worth repairing and I’ve got a family to feed. I guess I wont be gaming anymore save cheap tablet ftp games. Not a huge believer in coincidence. I guess us, non-whale non-frivolous spender gamer crowd are not welcome. LOL. Act of god so to speak, backdoor hacker shenanigans I’m not sure. In any case, this is very likely the end of my blizzard gaming days. When you deal with the devil, you get burned. nuff said. LOL
I feel like this is what every one of my teachers said when they were giving an example of how bad things used to be.
