I think Valdrakken is by FAR the most beautiful city ever built in the history of World of Warcraft. Dalaran was good, it was very good. But Valdrakken tops that by a long shot. I think it will be a long time before we see such a jewel again. I wish there were more topics like this, as it’s rare to see such gems in a game. The art team always knocks it out of the park, but this time they really outdid themselves.
PS: I wish they could invest in player character customization the same time they invest in world building / environment. I understand they don’t have enough resources / it’s not their priority. But imagine how rich the game would be if we the people who play it could express ourselves through our appearance to such thorough detail?

I also love Valdrakken, it’s great!
At the start of DF, I thought I was giving it too much credit because I was comparing it to Oribos Airport. Now, practically through DF, I still enjoy it just as much.

Honestly, yeah. Thinking about the other cities, Valdraxxen was such an amazing lively city. I love that they also keep adding stuff and NPCs to it.

Ngl, after standing around Valdrakken for almost two years or what I feel is an eternity, I’ve come to appreciate Oribos and other cities a lot more. Valdrakken truly is a “hotel” type of situation for me. Pretty on a superficial level, but if you actually dig a bit and try and see the “real” city you find nothing of true substance. This also applies to how I feel about a lot of Dragonflight and the dragon isles in general.

Yeah, Valdrakken is good. But Boralas is still my favorite city. When you include the slums, Boralas just feels more “lived in” than any other city they have made.

I stood up till early morning today (EU Zone) and I couldn’t help but notice the shine of the dawn and the pretty pink from the lit up sky as the sun was rising in Valdrakken. As I looked up, I could see all those drakes flying around peacefully, enjoying the fresh breeze above the city…
These are beauties we should never take for granted. It takes a great deal of inspiration to make something so magnificent, and it feels like every day I discover new things around the city.
Oh gosh yes Boralus is probably my 2nd favourite after Valdrakken but I do really really like Dalaran as well. Boralus is a place with so much personality, and the music is so catchy and energizing! Another place you don’t mind getting lost in and great for roleplay too!

The Circle City of Two Stories is less of a hotel than Valdrakken? Interesting take.
I REALLY loved Boralas, what I really didn’t love is how they made this AMAZING city but there really wasn’t a lot of reason for you to go in there and explore it. A lot of quests took place outside the city and the dailies were … elsewhere as well.
It’s a wonderful city, wish we could’ve had more in it.

It’s more of a reflection of how I feel about Dragonflight than shadowlands. That being said this playerbase truly has done quite wrong when it comes to shadowlands. Major disservices to an expansion I had more fun in than Dragonflight.
Shadowlands is rightfully disliked for many reasons as stated in the plethora of forum/reddit threads as well as numbers of subscriptions (which they got rid of … whoops)
I had an ongoing subscription throughout Cata through BFA and only stopped playing in after I killed the final boss in Castle Nathria because… it was no longer fun. Took the longest break in the history of WoW for me which was a year and a half because of it.
Missed out on a lot of fun times
Valdrakken, the City of 70 FPS.

I like Valdrakken i hope the news big citys be also good as it
I remember loving the scenery of TBC and WoW still being a pioneer of its kind and then almost being annoyed at what a dump Shattrath City was.
I played throughout the entirety of Shadowlands but for all the wrong reasons. It was the most traumatizing time I had in the game until the new void elf hair colours came out. I spent 9 months trying to get myself and others heard in the forums, and I think Shadowlands caused the biggest divide / conflict amongst Thalassian elf fans because ALL core races got a lot of customization and only a few ARs followed afterwards.
Valdrakken has like 3 taverns. One of which you can “rent out” and evict all the NPCs. Four if you count the hidden one behind the dragon statue.
It’s pretty great.
yeah it’s pretty but that FPS drop is not.
well thats where your
because silvermoon city is the most beautiful city.

Wait. What??? You can rent a tavern and evict NPCs out??? What kind of crazy sorcery is this?!
Valdrakken is also my favorite and I’m sad that we’re going to be leaving it pretty much deserted in the near future. It will never not break my heart that the only downside to WoW is how it pretty much leaves old content to be abandoned once a new expansion hits.
I do think an updated Silvermoon could be top tier though. It already is a whole vibe even for an older city, just lacks all the detail and life newer ones have.
