I have the same issue. Classic is working fine, but regular WoW half-launches, and is only running in the background. I have repaired and reinstalled. Also, it keeps making more and more copies of the game until the computer can barely function.

its been two day its sad that we paid to play and cannot play the game
I have been able to play launching the .exe file from the data folder. Just not with the Battle.net launcher. I don’t have an authenticator - I don’t know if that makes a difference or not.

I did the first few items in the list that the first reply provided, and that fixed the issue for me at least.
Not sure about anyone else though.
I uninstalled the Battle.net App, and re-installed it. I had to close the 8.3 ad that showed up, but after that, the launcher is working.
On the other hand, the launcher worked the first time right after installing, so we’ll see how that goes.
Same problem. My drivers are updated as with problems like these that’s the first thing I try. I can’t even launch from .exe either. Not too sure what else to do at this point as other troubleshooting in other forums hasn’t worked.
I had the same problem. The game was working this morning. The icon for the game doesn’t show in the battle net. But all the other games show up. I ended up loading the game from the saved location without logging into battle net.
Same problem here. I downloaded the patch and BOOM, game won’t run!

The drivers are not up to date.
They are years old.
I cant get on tried every thing like every one else nothing is working I can get on wow classic and play and I can get on diablo and play
Same issue here. Woke up in the morning and the game took an update and then just stopped being launched.
