WoW vs FFXIV Content release schedule over the years

What, like running the same 8 dungeons every week for two years?

I only really started a few weeks ago, I am aware of the discussion around the lack of mythic-level content released in the game which is why I’m not in a rush to hit max level. I’m treating it like a single player RPG.

The combat, the movement are nothing like WoW. That crisp level of gameplay is something I think we won’t find for a very long time. The thread was really made because I found the consistency of FFXIV incredible.

FFXIV might lack end game content, WoW lacks anything but end game content.

I’d say M+ is a bit more entertaining than running the same story dungeons over and over with half my skills gone due to de-leveling.

This isn’t that clever a line against someone that has played FF14 quite a bit.

Now keep in mind I’m not purposefully knocking FF14 at all.

I always recommend it as a really fun, online JRPG with gorgeous boss battles and a banging sound track. It’s great to play through at least one time.

However, a lot of people expecting it to be a big MMORPG and hold their attention for a decade like WoW did are going to be in for a disappointment.

I play both games as well. Without M+ WoW is an empty game comparatively.

Professions don’t matter here. The world doesn’t matter here. They add few cosmetics to collect at all. The story is delivered in a slow drip.

I guess raids are good. If you play to raid and then just wait until tuesday to open a lottery box, that’s cool. It’s not what I’m here for.

At least their heroic dungeons and their LFR provide reasonable rewards.

I guess WoW might be better if you really like premade group progression content. WoW is a horrible casual game to play these days.

I’d say this is where your problem is and I do not disagree. I would hope when 10.0 rolls around they throw a bone to casual, solo player progression.

Regular updates are easy when you have the gameplay depth of a coloring book.

I used to play WoW for things like story, world content and professions. I was huge into leveling alts, for example. That was always my go-to. I raided when all of those things provided entertainment.

So I assume when people are saying that end game is bad in FFXIV, it’s because they want more of a challenge. I don’t want a lot of challenge. I want one challenge at most, like a raid, and then I want the rest of the game to be my sandbox.

Glad to see you join up to lick boots and share your ignorance on the topic, Brewa.

I have no patience for people who don’t realize this is the WoW forum, not the FF forum.

I really like how they have all their patches, patch notes, and promotional pages all conveniently listed on a single page like that. If you want to look at something from multiple expansions ago, you can easily find it there.

Want to see promotional pages or patch notes for old WoW content? Good luck.

LOL, I would love to see a Brewmaster main do the Summoner opener.

In the table at the bottom.

Anything else I can help you find?

The topic is a conversation about WoW, too. Try to keep up.

It’s not, though.

Mentioning FFXIV in a thread’s title around here is a good way to get attention.

Not any more. This is basically the FFXIV official forum now.
