WoW Tokens Dropped Below 300k for the first time in over a month!

Holy Mother of God, 1mil for a WoW token? OmegaYikes.

I was thinking about how the token got to 400k for NA sometime around the launch of D4 I think? Idk. But the token hit 400k and Bam, Blizzard disabled them until the price lowered lol

Yep. Allegedly the insanely high price of the WoW token on TW servers was because of just how rampant botting is over there – apparently, once the TW WoW token hit the 1,000,000 cap on gold price, Blizzard had to add a stipulation to buying WoW tokens over there where you need to have actually paid for 30 days of WoW time and had at least 30 days of /played time before you can purchase a WoW token with gold.

…honestly, wouldn’t mind seeing that stipulation added over here, too, cause I’m sure that’d push the gold price of the WoW token down a bit.

People are buying a lot of gold with Tokens right now with the 10.2 around the corner. So the price is going down. I’m guessing North American servers have more people willing to throw down money for tokens.

It makes sense if you can afford it. There is no way to make that kind of gold per hour.

Third-party sells Gold: accounts can get hacked, accounts can/will get banned, even a lawsuit may be filed…

Blizzard sells Gold: Everything is fine guys, just buy our gold instead!

Meanwhile, casual gold making has been getting progressively more and more of a task…

Seems to me like casual gold making has never been easier. There’s always someplace to make gold. For example, on Sunday evenings, recently, there’s always some AH bot that gets out of whack and you can make a few thousand gold in under an hour just flipping between awakened air and rousing air.

Well unfortunately here we are. Blizzard has no financial incentive to fix the situation, at least in the short term. In fact it would definitely hurt their bottom line and probably cost the person who tried to do so, their job.

The thing is that few thousand gold isn’t much and doesn’t go far any more. It’s far easier and takes less time to make $20 than it does to make 300,000+ gold.

You know, I’ve been curious that since the morning it hit 400k and Blizz stopped people buying tokens for a short bit, it has been on a downward spiral every since. Seems sus.

As a filthy casual I haven’t had any trouble making enough gold this expac to pay for my sub. In fact I usually make enough for 2-3 tokens a month. And that just palying my casual game (world events/quests and rep grind lately), spending ~30 mins a day on my phone (garrison and sanctum missions) and around an hour week posting auctions. Latest number shows 20709 gold/day and I play <10 hours a week. :hear_no_evil::see_no_evil::speak_no_evil:

Ah, by that I mostly was referring to the passive gold making that mission boards use to offer. From WoD, to BFA, to SL, and now to their removal in DF, missions boards were so good to make gold from. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes there are some nice gold WQs up and such, but the mission tables were too good. Sadge to have them gone.

As for the AH flipping, I have never tried dabbling in it.

Seems like you’ve got a very efficient gold making system set up! :+1:

The wife bought one last week just to get the 320k or whatever it was at that point.
Easier to make $20 than that much as far as she’s concerned. lol

Yeah, it’s definitely true that just working and earning a paycheck to keep your sub is really just the way to go. What bites my butt is that, it wasn’t always that way… Used to be able to pay for the game by just playing the game lol

For example, crafting legendaries in Legion was a rather easy process, and every time I crafted one, I was able to pick up a token as a result. It’s just not that easy anymore lol

That’s good that you can find fun in doing those repeat activities. I do get tired of doing them after awhile.

I can work one overtime shift of 8 hours and have enough to pay the subscription for the next two years. I find that a lot more efficient than spending my time repeating world quests or gathering crafting mats on a ton of alts.

Figure most jobs these days are starting either 20 an hour, just under or even over that.
300k gold takes a little more than an hour to get unless your seriously flipping hard on the AH, lol

They need to release an expensive gold mount to drive the price back down.

Crazy that in 10.2 when they added literally dozens of new cosmetics they couldn’t be bothered to add a new gold mount.

292,166 and still dropping

Kind of doubt it’ll make it to 150k without a big gold sink release. That’s around where I like to buy them.

In the last 3 years the price has gone from 108k at the lowest to 402k.

wish i had gold leftover to buy up some tokens.

This might be the best time to buy tokens before next xpac
