People are putting them up still. There are just more people buying them off the AH then there are people putting them up, which is creating the shortage.
Mats are cheap because people are desperately dumping their stocks, both because stock prices are crashing, but also because they know that they NEED to buy a token now if they need one.
I’m getting conflicting answers on this online. It strikes me as wrong that they could charge tax on balance, balance is already processed funds. I’d have to see it in action to know for sure, but if they ARE, they should be compensating tokens in those states specifically.
As Yunming said, it’s more that the rates are off, but you get the idea in any case.
I’d post what my purchase page looks like if I had the ability to post screenshots here, but I can assure you that it will charge tax on bnet balance if you’re in one of the states that charges taxes on digital goods. It makes the bruto cost 95 bucks if I wanted to purchase it with bnet balance myself.
And yeah, this does mean transactions made in these states are effectively double dipping on taxes.
Fun as it can be to raise the old torch and pitchfork in blizzard’s general direction, I hope most people can understand that this particular choice is something out of their hands.
there’s nothing mysterious about it, they’re sold out. Not enough people are buying tokens with dollars compared to people buying tokens for gold. That’s why the price has gone up 47K today (and climbing)
Yep, and after the initial rush, tokens will be going for 500k+ and everyone who didn’t buy a mount will start selling them to buy mats. And mats prices will rebound.
Game tokens buy game time OR can be exchanged for bnet balance. People are buying them en masse right now to exchange for balance and buy the bruto mount.
Still kinda weird. Its like tesla cars, having heat seaters installed, but then paying a fee to use them XD People were very angy about that on twitter for a while
