I would argue the steady decline of players is a pretty good metric that its more than just the forums. In the end most of us play because of friends/social interactions. Every patch it seems like more of my friends/guildies leave play less. Once it hits a unspecified point I am sure ill leave as well whether I like the current game iteration or not.
