For me -
Hopefully enough people play that the money they make goes into making alternative and optional BC and WotLK official servers.
Ideally, for me, after that we could have branching universes. One where that awful Ghost guy ruined wow that leads to modern wow, and one where it goes WotLK to something good in the vein of BC and WotLK where they were adding systems and complexity and not content for children and people not keen on mmorpgs (like gem crafting, arena, inscriptions, talent trees for hunter pets, etc.)
Anyone remember the 81 point trees during the cataclysm beta? They were glorious. And then despair and horror and awful crap for little children ever since.
Obviously WotLK was kind of the beginning of the end with AOE spamming, dungeon group rushing, ilevel, ridiculous crap. But hopefully the branching universe fixes all that. And you can’t discount all the great stuff added in WotLK that actually added complexity and options - like inscriptions and pet talent trees.
Actually, I’d be okay if the branch happened after BC as long as whatever expansion after added inscription and pet talents.
Obviously this will be a horrible idea for some people, but even they have to see all the great possibilities that could come of a branching wow universe with one branch holding to what we all generally want from wow classic as design staples and lead by someone who is a true and diehard mmorpg actual mmorpg fan that would promise to never dumb-down, simplify, or gut gaemplay for a broader market appeal and a heavy focus on the rpg part of mmorpg (also no micro-transactions, no dungeon or raid finder, etc.)
For the people not interested - is it due to a lack of trust or a lack of desire? I know some people dislike expansions because they feel it invalidates all the work they put into their character up to that point.
