At the very least, some changes to how MMR and rating works.
Get into a game with 3 players at over 2K rating and 2 guys over 1850. Meanwhile I was under 1800. We have 1 draw and I get 3 wins… for ONE WHOLE RATING POINT INCREASE!
The queue times are so obnoxious. 30 minute wait time for 10 minutes of play which often results in 0 rating increases.
The augment runes are ridiculously overpriced - make these rewards for healers to decrease queue times.
Its just being disrespectful to knowingly acknowledge the issue and do nothing.
I love solo shuffle, but it is just a horrid game play setup. If i have an hour of free time to play - i wait 3 times the amount of time i spent actually playing… and i basically only get to do this once?
I think RSS has been around long enough for them to have enough data on how it’s working and adjust as needed, or just press the delete button and give us a real solo option.
I doubt anyone playing this game ever thought this was going to be a good idea, it’s like they asked in a meeting for everyone’s idea and combined all the worst of them together.
We’ve now had 2 seasons of this, no doubt they have the data to show how many of each class are playing, which are doing well and how to balance to make it work with any combination of players.
Yeah I REALLY REALLY LOVE solo shuffle - with the exception of the queue times.
I think it’s a good idea as an alternative to the other pvp arena options. It’s been an experience, but I was at least able to hit 1800 on 3 characters through solo shuffle and had a blast doing it, again with the exception of the queue times. Without this game option - I wouldn’t have had this much fun.
Further - I’m retiring from raiding after this tier, and I was actually considering continuing to play WoW via Solo Shuffle specifically. Hence why I wish they’d use the data and fix it so that people can actually play more than they wait.
They just need to allow 6 DPS to join at the same time. I went in yesterday to do my 12 solo quest and the other prot paladin was doing DPS levels of DPS while I was still being a pretend healer, needless to say I got wrecked and lost all 6 even though I was stop heals by a very large margin.
Healers and tanks have no place in solo, and I contradict myself, I got 1800 as prot, but when one of the healers or tanks is building for DPS and the other is trying to do their assigned role, it never works well for the one not doing damage.
The healer (in this case prot paladin) only exchanges score with the other healer, so you can disregard entirely what the dps’ rating is. They can’t say for sure that you or the other prot paladin is better than the other if you both win 3 games, so if your rating and the other paladin’s are about the same, it won’t and shouldn’t change much.
I wish the handout of conquest and honor went round by round and not needing to win 3 to gain anything. I’d also like there to be some variety in how they divvy up the DPS… like why are most games 2-3 ret pallies.
What do yo want them to do? Force more people to play healer? We need more healers and if you aren’t willing to roll one, then guess what… you are going to have longer que times.
Doubtful. I had a game the other day, prot paladin was higher rated than me, I won 4 matches and got ONE ENTIRE RATING POINT, thanks Blizzard.
Yeh well tell Blizzard to make prot paladins not go against only prot and you will have more healers. It’s worse for us because we can only ever get queued with another prot, some days, 45-60 minute waits.
They need to just let 6 DPS go at it either as 3v3 swapping for 6 rounds.
Or literally do a 1v1v1v1v1v1 with adjusted spells, like they cannot let a rogue and druid stay invisible forever, but also give out rank based on what you are doing, DPS, HPS, damage taken and all that jazz, score people based on how good they are.
3 DPS on the same team? I’ve never seen nor heard of that one.
As far as I know it’s 1 tank or healer on each team, or 1 prot paladin on each team, prot paladin for sure gets there own queue, Blizzard came out and said it.
It makes sense, VDH are a tank class designed to do damage to sustain themselves in PVE content, the harder you hit, the more self-healing you do. Much like how paladins are designed to have some great off healing, so they were given the heal role in solo.
Offer augment runes, like they already do for dungeons, to healers for winning at least 3 games. 1 rune for 3, 1 more for each additional win once you hit 1400
That isn’t going to get people to heal… they need to make healing more accessible and fun but with the damage the way it is, I’m not shocked ppl don’t want to heal… then the way people treat them in solo shuffles. Adding some little run isn’t going to do that.
Rita is right. Healer points are only agaisnt each other. The way points are calculated is MMR of Healer A vs MMR of Healer B.
Prot paladins = healer
All other tanks = dps slots.
Prot pally did have substantial healing throughput when this was created, putting what would be 2 healer team vs 1 leads to long damp fights and would be unfair, hence them being treated differently.
Problem with healer in SS is that its based only agaisnt the other healer. If you have a bad dps player that gets tunneled every game then healers break even at 3-3 while the other dps go 4-2 and the bad player 0-6. DPS goes up rating with positive win ratio, healers stay same.
This is true if one dps is better than the rest. Lets say DPS goes 6-0. Both healers go 3-3 amd gain no rating while the other dps flucates.
Common strat is to go after the player that doesnt know how to respond to preasure. The more eother a dps wins or a dps loses, the better odds healers are going 3-3.
The hardest part is there is nothing you can do about it. Melee zug zug down the player whom doesnt know how to respond to pressure, they all gain rating (minus the person getting zugged) and as a healer you are just delaying the inevitable…rets that dont bubble, mages that dont block, DH no darkness…just people not knowing how to react or to properly trade cds all lead to healers gaining nothing.
I won a solo match the other day, got 4 wins. The other prot was a higher rating than me, only one other person was lower rated across all 6 players. For my effort I gained one entire rating point.
I finished my 12 solo rounds because of the quest, but since I already hit 1800 and got my elite PVP set, and because of that 1 rating point for a win when I was the second lowest ranked person in the game, I have given up.
Unless next seasons PVP set is something I like, I may never go back to solo again, if I want PVP rating I will find a premade group and push arena 2 or 3 instead.
