You are wrong. The main things that keeps me playing is my actual and emotional investment in this game. Take that away and why bother?

People stopped playing WoW because they got a Legendary drop that wasn’t as epic as the one their favorite site or streamer talked about. This is easily one of the most fickle and entitled game communities to ever exist. Nonetheless, some manner of reset is needed for WoW now.
Do you mean release WoW 2? Because hard resetting their game would be absolutely stupid.
