MMORPG’s have had a massive decline in popularity. WoW’s numbers a still one of the highest.
D4 looked like D3 gameplay with a reskin or darker shades
Personally I had completely low expectations for BFA, when they were hyping up warmode & island expeditions as the new major features I just couldn’t get behind it. It showed that they had nothing interesting to show. This time around, I’m so damn hyped for Shadowlands.
Firstly, the theme. At first I was unsure about the theme, but after seeing parts of the zones, wow, they truly do look beautiful, and the story about what the Shadowlands is has me drawn in completely. Focusing on class identity is a huge thing for me, I’m excited to see what they do with it. Giving choice back to the players rather than leaving us on a neverending RNG loot-grind is probably the single thing I’m most hyped about. The option to pick out of multiple options for the weekly chests, being able to craft the gear with the stats that you want, I’m really excited for that. The game is going to be alt friendly again. Since Legion the game has just been getting exponentially more alt unfriendly (it wasn’t too bad until BFA), but now alts are honestly just tiresome and more of a chore rather than an choice. This is another ‘massive’ thing for me as someone who enjoys having multiple alts. The Tower of the Damned looks like it could be really interesting.
There’s so many things to look forward to in Shadowlands, infinitely more than there were in BFA’s announcement. Personally, I’m looking forward to it.
I don’t wanna derail this topic much but you do realize diablo 4 ISN’T 3 right? They had a “meh”, doesn’t mean the diablo track record is bad. They said they were going back to the roots and it looks like they really listened. We know so little about the game but you’re already being so negative about it.
Ahh you want more Blizzard hand holding. I can give you the website link for Roblox if you want something easy? Literally every game has rng. What sets people apart is the willingness to grind it out. The ability to learn and adapt with what you get vs oh this is BiS im freshly maxed aaaand OK what do I do now? It’s turning into “Handouts the game”
I mean the gameplay clip was short - but graphically it basically looked just like D3 to me.
Jury is still out on that.
Shadowlands is somewhat disappointing so far - so those new game play systems better be amazing or this will prove to be an even bigger letdown than BFA.
If they make talents and levels meaningful again and get rid of gear roulette I may buy it. Unfortunately, I don’t think they will. I have gone from waiting for the next expansion to waiting for the next development team at this point. Terribly sad.
The rest of the stuff is blah. The story jumped the shark a long time ago.
I’m sorry I don’t really follow here. The graphics in D3 aren’t bad, it was a game-play “issue” (I personally still play and enjoy D3). How are the graphic improvements and indication of how the game will be?

Great conversation there boomer.
Graphically it looked great but that’s a towering strength of Blizz. Content wise each of those new zones looks exactly like zones we’ve already seen.
How many ways can we say “wow is dying!!!” before we get tired of the same to shtick?
All I am saying is that it looks the same to me.
As if it were just another expansion with some new zones (like reaper of souls). Not better, not worse, not a criticism of good or bad.
Just that it looked the same. So I’m reserving judgment.

I never said I didn’t. There was no discussion from them. Read before you type friend 
So what? They did listen a lot and it led us to the worse expensions ever. “Oh we need more warcraft 2 theme!” we had WoD and BFA showing war and it was terrible.
MoP was fun, even if panda was not your thing. This looks like a good return to fantasy and adventure, I’m jumping this train after complaining about the last three expansions.
They been saying that since Blackwing Lair patch.
I mean Bolvar has been the good guy and Sylvanas has always been questionable. The expansion has only the mirror tower that looks like ICC, which makes sense, the other zones don’t at all. Based on what they said at the panel they did listen to us when it comes to rng and poor class design.
