WoW Routinely Starts Without Sound

WoW routinely starts without sound for me, and has for years. I normally just exist the client and reboot.

  1. Does anyone else have this issue?
  2. Do we know why it happens?
  3. Is there a fix I can do that doesn’t require me to Alt+F4?

I’m not bothering with the bug forum. They have to know about this - it has been years - and there are more important bugs to fix right now.

I have this issue for a different reason. I use 3D sound software that sometimes fails to enable my sound device when I boot up my PC. I have to toggle it to get the sound back. I use Boom 3D because Wow’s 3D sound positioning doesn’t work for me without it.
