Wow repellent - Loot

Oh not at all actually.
You keep trying and failing to imply that this effect is why we want increased drop chances when you have two different people telling you exactly why we want what we want lol.

One of my favorite mounts in game isn’t even rare. It’s a freaking Archeology mount Spirit of Eche’ro.

I didn’t even have to trick them. A lot of them thought they were being smart and trying to attack while I was killing mobs. Little did they know about the talismans back then. First person to get the Ashen Hide Mushan on my realm though felt pretty darn good, especially being from a Normal realm vs a PvP realm.

The death threats and hate mail was worth it (for me).

youre not going to convince that one. Id say just tell him to have a nice day and stop responding.

I said what I said and I stick with it. The fact you’re just coming in here and denying it like an infant caught with its hand in the cookie jar is not surprising to me, I expected someone would be like “No no, I just really like these mounts I swear!”. So with that, have a nice night.

This is my favorite part of online discussions.
When the opponent fails with their half-baked attempt they try to bow out like they’ve won something lol

It’s more like there’s nothing productive about going on in circles with someone who’s discussing from a place of bad faith. You set out to contradict me, and thus you’ll never realise that indeed, most of the desire for these rare mounts comes from their rarity. Thus we have nothing further to discuss.

You’re trying to apply your logic to everyone, when clearly this isn’t the case.
Failing that, you’re running away.

lol…some of my favorites are easily purchased off the AH…crafted and/or very low drop rates evidently.
My Vulpera nearly exclusively use the Leaping Veinseeker I got from the AH.
The Garn Nighthowl is probably my favorite of all mounts (wish it had flight) because I have the hunter pets and pup to go along with it.
The Mists panthers are all AH mounts…the ones I have.
Just bought the great sea ray a few weeks ago…AH.
The wife and I worked to get the Brinedeep Bottom-Feeder together a few weeks ago too.
MOST of the mounts i use and like the most ARENT rare at all. Theyre AH mounts or you can get them very easily.

You’re not wrong, OP.

Blizzard is either stubborn, and is going to “die on the hill” of deterministic loot. Or they’re terrified of it.

What’s crazy is that (from what I have heard on here, and someone correct me if I’m wrong) FF has a deterministic loot system where you’re garanteed to get Mounts, etc by 100 runs of whatever it is. So Blizzard is famous for stealing from other companies, but some concepts like deterministic loot is one concept they won’t touch with a 10 foot pole. I don’t understand why they think that frustration is the best way to retain players! Clearly it’s not working when FF’s sub numbers are beating Blizzards, by a LOT.

Blizzard sees that deterministic loot is an extremely popular concept with the players, but REFUSE to do it themselves! Heck, the closest we even get to bad luck counter measures, is the damn vault, and it’s FREAKING RANDOM also!

It’s beyond obvious that the management at Blizzard are incompetent, and I hope with every ounce of sincerity that I have, that when Microsoft finishes the acquisition, that Phil Spencer goes to Anaheim and drops a pile of pink slips on every single manager at Blizzard and gives their jobs to managers who actually give a **** what the players actually want and are willing to listen to their customers!!

My Vulpera has the Hyena mount and the rare Hyena hunter pets.
It’s amazing.
Don’t plan on ever using any other mounts for it unless they release another hyena lol.
I have like lore connections for my toons and their mounts so it has to fit

I love the Garn Nighthowl and the numerous mounts that use the same model because I like the packs they have. Looks like adventurer gear. The Vulp are cool with the make Camp tent.
Really looking forward to the tent made with tailoring in DF soon too.
I love that RPG stuff. Rarity hasnt got a thing to do with it.

I just have one giant issue.
I try not to have two of each race (or class) cause too many alts but I love the Vulpera shaman totems and i love the Goblin shaman totems.
I have ideas for mounts for both, but drop rates suck atm lol

Past mounts I also mentioned armor, weapons, toys, and pets. Hope they get some love in this forum thread as well.

There are many weapons with 1% or less drop rates.
Examples:

  1. Yasahm the Riftbreaker
  2. Varruth’s Guillotine
  3. Taeshalach
  4. Scythe of the Unmaker
  5. Rae’shalare, Death’s Whisper
  6. Warglaives of Azzinoth
  7. Goblin Power Shovel

and so on. Why such giga low drops?

Noone’s forcing them to go after something obviously put in place for those lucky enough to get it.

Kinda like lotto.

A trick that worked for me. Say you want Venthyr. You see their quests are up. I swapped my alts to Venthyr to get multiple pieces. And dont worry if you get 2 quests for gloves, as an example. Complete 1 and the other changes to a piece you dont have. The quest will change it to boots or whatever as the quest reward before hand. You can even see what piece.

I got all 5 sets like that. (Venthyr has 2)

low drop rate mounts aren’t very common anymore…but they’re def necessary to create a world of wonder & add flavor to collections as an end-game activity imo :100:

if you don’t care for chasing RNG rares, enjoy your non-special world quest & rep mounts i guess…cuz everyone gets those

RNG is a weird thing. Twice this week, I got the Black War Mammoth from Wintergrasp raid. And Ive had it since Wrath was current content.

I got the Brewfest ram this week. Also had since Vanilla.

Took me over 100 tries to get Onyxia mount. Got it again just a few weeks later.

I got the Blackhand mount my first time there farming. I got it again a week later

I got Elegon when I wasnt even farming for him. I got a pop up quest about the faction and got confused.

On the flip side, I couldn’t tell you how many times I ran ICC for Invincible before I got it

After years of farming, I finally got the Sunwell bow!… on my Demon hunter. Then in BFA my hunter got it.

Had a warrior that got a Thunderfury while farming for T2 pants. Took longer for the pants

like no one forced you to post here to provoke players who dont like this system

:+1:
One mount I saw when I first started playing WoW that I wanted. Took me what…two years to get it running it maybe every other week average.
I got mine. showed it to the wife. Uh huh…it dropped for her the first time when me, her, her brother and sister in law ran the content. lol.
She wasnt running for the mount. She was doing it because her sister in law likes the content and wanted to do it together.

I really dont care about trolling opinions meant to stir up the pot when this topic comes up, blizzard NEEDS to make it so players who devote some effort to this have a higher chance of getting the drops.

For me, WoW repellent is dailies, mission tables, and other chores.

I play(-ed) WoW purely for the casual battleground grinding. To me, that WAS the game. No ranked, nothing beyond that. Dungeon crawls were fun too, but the mythic system I guess was too much additional artificial difficulty that, again, I just stopped playing.

The best fun was had right then and there.

Raiding is quite dead because it simply takes too long, and the rewards are too little. It’s why Mythic Plus has taken over instead.

They honestly need to go the FF14 route, where raids are much faster (no trash, just giant rooms and bosses) and everyone at least gets a participation trophy.

I’ve quite literally dropped this game for other games, and that’s kinda sad.

Deep Rock Galactic for group content, Splatoon 3 for stupid unbalanced PvP fun, Overwatch 2 just came out, Binding of Isaac: Repentance never stopped being a fun dungeon crawl, Mario Kart 8 DLC, YouTube if I ever want to catch up on my content creators… the list goes on.

WoW used to be great. But it’s hard to convince myself it’s still great, versus every other game I currently own. WoW isn’t winning this battle.

Maybe a WoW 2 or some kind of Microsoft reboot is the best I can hope for.

The models all do feel extremely stiff. I somewhat cringed a little bit upon re-watching the Dragonflight cinematic, and seeing those players ride by on mounts.

It looked bad.
