For me, WoW repellent is dailies, mission tables, and other chores.
I play(-ed) WoW purely for the casual battleground grinding. To me, that WAS the game. No ranked, nothing beyond that. Dungeon crawls were fun too, but the mythic system I guess was too much additional artificial difficulty that, again, I just stopped playing.
The best fun was had right then and there.
Raiding is quite dead because it simply takes too long, and the rewards are too little. It’s why Mythic Plus has taken over instead.
They honestly need to go the FF14 route, where raids are much faster (no trash, just giant rooms and bosses) and everyone at least gets a participation trophy.
I’ve quite literally dropped this game for other games, and that’s kinda sad.
Deep Rock Galactic for group content, Splatoon 3 for stupid unbalanced PvP fun, Overwatch 2 just came out, Binding of Isaac: Repentance never stopped being a fun dungeon crawl, Mario Kart 8 DLC, YouTube if I ever want to catch up on my content creators… the list goes on.
WoW used to be great. But it’s hard to convince myself it’s still great, versus every other game I currently own. WoW isn’t winning this battle.
Maybe a WoW 2 or some kind of Microsoft reboot is the best I can hope for.
The models all do feel extremely stiff. I somewhat cringed a little bit upon re-watching the Dragonflight cinematic, and seeing those players ride by on mounts.
It looked bad.
