Of course Blizzard would have to use their own servers. It’s their game that they have to maintain on their own.
That said, like others said, it currently seems to be more about adding some controller support rather than an actual console port.
Historically the console companies don’t allow external server usages (all blizzard games online services are handled by the consoles themselves for example), that’s why I though it would be funny to see them try.
Maybe that depends on if it’s a separate server. FFXIV has both console and PC players playing on the same server. There is some PSN integration for PS4 players so they can identify other console players, but it’s still SE’s servers.

That’s what I meant though when I was talking about SE having a good relationship Sony. When they originally asked microsoft about FF on xbox it fell through over servers.

Yea, who knows how many talks and negations later haha. It’s a good thing though.
And I honestly believe it would be a good thing for wow to come to console, all the things people complain about it causing are mostly a non-issue.

I’ve been waiting for years to have WoW on console, and it’s the only PC game I play any more. I’ve been playing FFXIV since launch in 2013 on ps3/ps4. They did an excellent job designing the game around the controller. You have immediate access to 32 keys with button and trigger combinations and it works beautifully. Almost half of PC players use a controller in FF14 too. My PC is 10 years old and it will run SL but obviously at lower settings. I don’t want to buy a new pc.
I read an article a couple years ago from a WoW game developer who said they would never bring WoW to console. He said it would be so much work they would just start over and make a new game.
The power of new “news” should be sufficient. I don’t understand some people’s preference for having multiple threads about the same subject instead reusing an applicable thread.
if they can do it right so it doesnt screw with our game, Im all for it.
consoles are where the big bucks are…that an android.

If it was on the Switch, my kids would play it. They dont use the PC for Overwatch but as soon as it was on Switch, they jumped on like it was a new game. They would do it WoW too.
Blizz added controller support and an action camera in Legion, they’ve been working on this for a while.
Are people really clamoring for World of Warcraft on a console as the article states? If there is, I haven’t seen it.

xbox and ps both have kb and mouse support, it would work fine but people here will always be against it due to pc elitism
Just because gampad is being added doesn’t necessarily mean console is.
I know tons of ppl who use a game pad to play things like diablo on a PC

WoW is not a controller friendly game, especially now that they’re unprunning a bunch of useless abilities. Console players would drag down PC players in group content and be at a huge disadvantage in PvP.
Just be another reason for peeps to leave the game, (imho) I would never play wow on counsel. Like I never did with Diablo.
