I’ve been in queues that need dps and it’s taken very very long time to fill. (maybe 1-2 hours)? This was back in Legion when I was farming the mount from the second boss in Antorus.
Were you doing anything that caused the queue to pause? that might explain things.

nope, we been sitting in queue from the getgo doing absolutely nothing but waiting. It popped a couple times but people either were afk or dodged it putting us back in line.
Another suggestion that may address the issue…WoW needs to allow cross-faction instanced content using LFG/LFR.
Trying to queue as alliance probably doesn’t help at this point.

Wow has tons of tank and healer players.
They just often have regulars to play with specifically to avoid lfg dps.

I always do the LFR raid first before i ever queue up for normal, it just helps me get a feel for the raid.
Yell in trade and LFG for healers to queue for the LFR wings you are queued for. This reduce queue times by like 75%. Last night someone yelled “tank pls queue for jailers vanguard” in trade chat. I hopped on one of my warrior and I was in the dungeon with the person who yelled within 30 seconds.
I dont heal raids much. Mostly cause I don’t feel like changing my setup in my healers from mythic plus to raid healing.
Especially on specs like discipline priest.
