WoW needs a lottery

I am unsure your station in life, but yes I have. That, right there, is why society as a whole is struggling. “Oh this might cause problems? Psh. Not for me.” Entitlement be the humans downfall, greed and lack of sympathy are the weapons in which it utilizes.

But woe is the speaker of these truths in a world that rather burn. (Especially with internet peeps).

This, however, is a fair statement. The idea of striving towards something is what keeps people going. Certainly WoW has more than what is to be collected. Socially and economically speaking are some ideas that immediately come to mind. Yet why lessen the journey of the former? Ah! We have circled back to the first statement involving greed, the overconsumption of things one does not need, nor will utilize.

“I have 100 mounts!” Screams the man who uses the same one daily.

“I have all of the things!” Screams the person who never changes appearance.

Certainly some credibility lies within these arguments. But when pulled out into the shinning light to be scrutinized, you find hollow arguments that show the frailty of that which we are: human and more often than not, damaged goods looking to escape the soul crippling reality in which we live.

One more dopamine hit of that mount drop! One more brief moment of feeling accomplished! Addicted to the virtual because we are smart enough to avoid those same very real pitfalls in the real world.

Until we can’t. We look around and are owned and boned by every major corporation that exsists. Simply because WE DON’T CARE.

Your actions, virtual or not, have real consequences upon the world in which we live. Just because your ripple is small, and goes unnoticed does not mean collectively it does not build to a crescendo of magnificent horror down the line.

Tl:dr - ignorance will do nothing but breed more ignorance.
