Wow Lost the Essential RPG Componant

To the forum Gang that like to poke fun at, cast veiled insults at and just criticize a poster. Instead of staying on topic. At least thanks for continuing the tread. Just saying.

I remember seeing hunters killing rats in the deep run tram en mass because of this

Did ChatGPT tell you to say that?

Thanks for the innovative reply.

Ok, I’ll get on point. ā€œImportanceā€ is an evolving concept. Also highly subjective. I never cared about leveling greens, as long as they kept me killing the things I needed to kill for quest objectives, that was enough for me. Nothing about leveling was ever ā€œfunā€ except adventuring with friends, but if I spent 8h just killing random creatures or working on a rep or PVPing with those same friends and didn’t gain a single level, it would be just as ā€œfun.ā€

Ground mounts vs flying mounts for ā€œimmersionā€ and an explorable world? If the zones are built for flying there’s just as much to explore as there would be on the ground. The world didn’t get bigger because you’re stuck on foot or a slow ground mount versus a flying mount. It just got slower, and more tedious.

Nobody forces you to use your ground mount at level 15 or whatever it is in retail. You can keep running around on foot while leveling in retail, and use your first mount at 30, and then stay on ground til 60 and use your flying mounts after. But I can almost guarantee you won’t do that if the game doesn’t force you to do so, like Classic.

Thanks for your reply. What I was aiming at was that the players perception experienced a larger world while riding a land-mount as opposed to a flying mount. But I do sympathize with your feelings and opinion.

I would be interest to hear what your opinion is of the new Official Hardcore Mode release coming on the 23rd of this month?

That would be a BIG ā€œnopeā€ from me.

Your mileage may vary.

Because nowadays there is no MMORPG, there is only one or the other. And Modern Wow is the Former.

Id rather farm hundreds of shards then be a slave doing dailies until my fingers bleed like it’s homework. In bfa I got punished so bad I took a 10 percent DPS hit because I refused to do dailies

Barely, if any, of what you described seems like an essential RPG component. 9 paragraphs to say you want to level slower.

I feel it depends on what you’re looking for in an RPG.

A new player today could possibly find an extremely immersive RPG experience. There’s a variety of races to choose from, each with their own unique zones and lore. There’s the big choice of choosing a faction still. There’s also past content to discover like class order halls if they want to delve even deeper into the history of their class and discover its secrets. There’s aiming to unlock the AR’s which is more realistically accessible now.

The leveling experience may be faster and less tailored around being drawn out and slow paced. However, the world is massive with decades worth of expansion material to leave new players with an endless feeling of discovery. The variety of races, classes, and past lore to uncover imo makes it a much more substantial RPG today than in the past. Difficulty imo isn’t everything.

Even vanilla ended because people got ā€˜bored’ and needed something ā€˜more.’ That said i think it’s all on the devs/designers ~after~ the earlier years who began making WoW more about making $$$ than fun.

WoW was never a good rpg.

Man I hated weapon skills, do subpar damage because you didn’t have the skill leveled up.

Nicely stated you really do get to the true essence of the issue , to bad there is not solution

You might like having bags full of rubbish like ammo, soul shards, reagents for rp reasons, and that’s ok, but a lot of us found it annoying, and unfun. My suggestion is to stay in classic if you prefer that playstyle. It is there for you, and other likeminded individuals.

Which honestly, they should’ve been currency to begin with. At least that’s how i would do it.

Insisting bag space = RPG has always been weird to me. It’s WEIGHT and its effect on your performance that creates an immersive experience.

There was nothing RPGsh about making sure you had 1000 bullets before the MC raid started.

This is why the game sucks today, catering to these people.
