After that cinematic reveal I’ve begun seriously considering trying FFXIV. That’s how bad it was.

I’m thankful they don’t. Don’t get me wrong WOW has some super hype moments that they have at times manage to string together to make what looks like a story but many people shouldn’t come to WOW for the story.
I don’t usually agree with you but you’re spot on here. The best thing that could happen to this game is the solo players who want the game catered to them leave and find a solo player game that is more fitting to this. This is an MMORPG, not a single player game, MMORPG’s put a focus on teamwork.

What do you suggest as the 4th pillar? There will never be a solo progression path. This is an MMORPG, emphasis on Massively Multiplayer. If you can’t work as a team you will ALWAYS be behind.

I play both, I don’t think one or the other is superior, they both have their good and bad points. However, I do think that some who are posting are doing so because they love WoW and want to see the developers do better. Sure, some are trolls, spammers and/or wanna-be internet personalities like the OP but I do honestly believe that some people are are voicing their displeasure with the game because they do in fact love this game.
I’ve seen more people on my friends list leave during Shadowlands than I have in any expansion I’ve ever played, and I’m a Wrath baby. Heck, even I stopped playing for almost a month before 9.1 and that was a first for me. Which is fine, we all need to take breaks now and again. You’ll always have unhappy people with any product, the key is knowing when it’s just the Karens of the world being Karen or if there’s a legitimate issue that should probably be addressed.
I guess my point is that some people voice their unhappiness because they care, and we should all want them to voice that unhappiness because if they didn’t, how would the developers know when there is an issue that needs attention? Sure you have to separate the wheat from the chaff, but that’s part of running a business.

because if i go outside i have to listen to my neighbor yelling at his young kids for f’ing up the paint job on his shed. if you wanted it to look good why’d you force young kids to help you…

I would agree with this but I believe it’s only a very small fraction.
Multiplayer is fulfilled when I’m running around in korthia killing rares with people. Instances are not required for multiplayer.

I reply here because I’m capable of playing more than one game at once. As far as WoW, being the best, that’s subjective. I’d wager that if a lot of people who play WoW truly gave other MMORPGs a shot they would probably be happier. But, I’d also wager, most stick around here because it’s familiar, don’t want to start over elsewhere, or like me wow is where their friends are.

Not really. FF is pretty solid. I had to get over myself and I resubbed. But here’s the thing…you can play two games at the same time! I know, WHO WOULDA GUESSED?!?
I just logged out of 9.1 at Odyn. Unless you’re raiding (which sadly I am not due to work) this patch is super boring.

Seems you have never tried any of the savage content. Way harder than anything wow puts out. In fact, if things are hard in wow they get nerfed till everyone stops crying.
Don’t worry they are, and your game is losing subs at an alarming rate because of it.

FF14 is somewhere between an MMORPG and a single player Final Fantasy game. It’s still a very good game and I never feel that the devs there are trying to exploit me.
ESO would be good if the combat was better. It’s still not bad to play from time to time.
Hopefully one of the other 2 upcoming MMOs can figure out how to make action combat good because that’s the future.
