WoW is not a good MMO for people who make mistakes

No it doesn’t, that is a choice; You could be part of the community like in a guild and not have that issue.

I think for 99% of casuals Heroics would be fine.
Though I dont see the big difference between getting M+ level gear in Delves and allowing it in Follower Dungeons, personally.

IF M+ players are getting gear from delves, no reason at all it cant be done in FD’s too.

the only players not making mistakes are running a bot.

rotation bot
kick bot
full hands free bot

some kind of bot

humans make mistakes

bots don’t

end of story.

there is a bar set for content like that.

I feel that i have a hard time reaching that bar so i generally ignore that content and focus on what i can do.
It works for me and for the most part i enjoy the game i play.
and thats what i want from my 15$/mo. A game i enjoy playing.

if harder content was important to me id try to find ways to meet the expectations of that content. And probably be very bitter when i am reminded that iʻm not good enough.

lol then why play?

I can’t imagen the community of people who bring others into the current state of WoW to be high.

Learning things later into a season can be pretty rough. People start to feel it’s old content and should already be known. I started only a couple weeks late as a tank and going into pugged heroic raids to learn was something else. I agree with others responses that pugging will make the experience worse than better. Even then I would suggest that learning fights is also an individual’s responsibilities if you’re going to pug it. If you had somebody willing to show and lead you while you’re doing it, it’s another story!

So, is WOW not a good mmoprg for everyone then? because everyone makes mistakes, not justnew players.

Yes, the mistake of trusting this company to keep your data safe…

In a guild.
Have a friends list.
Don’t need to Pug or bother with its prisoner of Omelas aspects.

Every MMO has the unforgiving elitists. These are humans who forget other humans are playing, and choose not to play at their skill level. If WoW had a separate server type just for casuals who only got “Story Mode” combat, and gear that did not matter cause you could kill anything at level cap, the elitists would stay away, and everyone could play as they choose. I would be the first person to transfer all my characters to a Story Mode realm where the gear doesn’t matter.

The higher I push myself into the content, the more I’ve realized that most elitist aren’t that great really. Lol the people who push you to go go go are the ones that die first. And the ones that make others feel bad for playing have gotten their wins because others have helped them, but don’t have the patience to work to get it again if it’s their turn to help others.

There are so many cool people that play this game. I’ve made a ton of friends from pugging! But it’s just part of progression to run into different types of people. Those who can’t do well with people being rude are gonna have a hard time pugging over having a smaller circle of friends. But if you can get past some of the mean people, you’ll find better ones along the way.

This was my experience so far at least.

And it sounds like it worked amazing for you! Some of us are not as “social” and find ourselves sticking to friends and guildmates. While I have met some chill people pugging, they are not the same people who say, “Can I add you?” the way hundreds of others did back in the day when gamers treated each other like humans. I would add them, but I’ve only known them for 8 minutes and am ok with the group of people I have now. I stopped running M+ in SL after a +22 Halls that we timed and the group leader was still yelling about one bad boss fight. That’s when I hung up my spurs and went casual.

I’ll never understand why people get mad when you complete and time the content. Haha sorry that happened. And I totally get what you mean by not being as social. I wasn’t for a while either. Now I simply just try to keep upbeat to set a good vibe. I don’t like runs that people don’t talk to much in as much as I enjoy ones others are comfortable to speak in.

But there is still good people out there raiding and doing mythics. It’s a mixed bag. Like we met a sweet guy in a mythic the other day who brought his guildies into our guild raid last night and helped us clear the whole thing! I’m in a more laid back guild so that help was huge. Thankful to meet players like him and like a cool person I met a couple weeks ago that’s been giving me help to do better myself.

Thanks for making me learn tonight. ((Oddly not snarky, genuine))

While true I’d say FFXIV is worse.

Wow is what blizz made it to be, punishing mechanics, depleting keys and etc, its not the community’s fault

never seen a pug raid kick someone for ONE mistake, how ever seen plenty boot people for making mistake, after mistake, after mistake, usually from not knowing the fights.

That’s why I just do delves now, or weekly fluff quest content. I think it’s mostly so bad because Ion himself behaves that way when people make a mistake, and encourages others to be like that. And all the pushiness to turn WoW dungeons into an e-sport etc.

I still think you should watch fights before you do them though, it’s good manners. Going in something completely blind and just expecting other people to carry you is like two sides of the same coin as being a toxic elitist, and both are bad. There’s tons of quick boss guides out there. But yeah, just because you watch a fight doesn’t mean you’ll magically be good at the fight in real time. WoW’s fights are often very dynamic. It’s because WoW’s culture is kind of annoying d-bag frat bro-ish and there’s a type of hazing ritual they put new players through, and overly rewarded people who have done the fight a million times in a sweaty hardcore way. And people being rude and poorly behaved is encouraged by those at the very top, and not properly punished or enforced like in other games.

Hardcore WoW is wiping a bunch of times and having the patience to put up with other people’s mistakes until you get it right. It’s not appealing to everybody, for sure. And sure there are other easier difficulties, but they are too much of an after thought compared to the “elitist” stuff. They could raise the skill floor and lower the skill ceiling - but their egos won’t let them.

Git gud bruh.

I’d say Shadowbane was THE worst of all time.

Let’s see… stolen all of a players money… Check.
Stolen an entire guilds ability to make a city… check
Summoned people out into the middle of the ocean where fatigue kills you… check
Forced an entire population to live on an island with no contact of the main game… check
