I find it really strange how some people think that adding more QoL features to the game will ruin it. Fanboys are weird.
While WoW is not in maintenance mode. I do think Mythic Plus and WQ are the last big features to be added. Delves look ok are Blizz Con. However, I donât see them lasting beyond the next expansion. Work Orders have been a hit or miss depending if you enjoy spamming trade chat all day or not.
ESO does not have all of those features. Nor does GW2 have all of those features. I already told you MMOs that I play donât have half those features. So no, itâs not ALL games that have these features.
Different games do different things.
You want certain features, fine. But donât claim every single game has them as some form of argument.
Old Republic doesnât have half of what you claim. Rift doesnât have half of what you claim. ESO is missing at least one or two of those. As is GW2. You even said so when you double posted the same thing to me.
This is not the same engine, not the same coding, not the same style.
Dude⌠COORDINATES on the map! lol To say nothing of how poor the maps are, in general.
And we should be able to right-click a marker on the map, press a button, and just FLY to that location. No need to babysit it, just let me GET AROUND.
I could go on for DAYYYSSSSSS on this topic. lol
ESO literally has all of those features.
Why would they imitate inferior products?
wait what?
GW2 has plant people and 4 eared cat folk
ESO has cat folk and lizard folk
FFXIV has 2 kinds of cat folk and bunny people
Everyone has cat people!!
Wheres my saberon?
Theyâre not impossible, just completely unlikely given the sheer number of man hours it would take for a dedicated team to pull off. It would cost far too much for no meaningful change.
I would love a dye system, really, but itâs probably never going to happen in WoW. Maybe if they developed a follow-up, but people have invested tens of thousands of dollars over the past 20 years on their characters. They canât just shut WoW down and move everyone over like they did OW to OW2. Theyâd completely destroy their cash-cow.
Exactly, the one game with different races
And theyâre all just humans, great game, why try to make anything look different when human
ESO has emotes and an addon that allows those emotes to be turned into idle animations.
Basically, thatâs like creating an addon for WoW that has you doing the crafting animation while idle.
ESO:
- Player housing: YES
- Armor dye: YES
- Body markings/tattoos: YES
- Character idle poses: YES
- In-depth character customization with sliders: YES
BDO:
- Player housing: YES
- Armor dye: YES
- Body markings/tattoos: YES
- Character idle poses: YES
- In-depth character customization with sliders: YES
GW2:
- Player housing: NO
- Armor dye: YES
- Body markings/tattoos: YES
- Character idle poses: YES
- In-depth character customization with sliders: YES
FFXIV:
- Player housing: YES
- Armor dye: YES
- Body markings/tattoos: YES (with mods)
- Character idle poses: YES
- In-depth character customization with sliders: YES
Youâre forgetting it has âpersonalitiesâ which change your characterâs idle.
Hrothgar are humans?
Kajit have a lot of forms, from ogre sized to feral housecat sized ones although the ones you can play are pretty human sized.
Of course they have the money. But they arenât going to put money into doing something with so little return.
It doesnât work that way.
And still leaving out all of the other games and claiming an addon is base game.
Again: you want to argue you want this stuff in game, fine. But donât try to claim EVERY MMO has these things. Itâs a bad faith argument.
Especially when none of them are as old as WoW, none of them have anything even remotely similar in engine to WoW or style or art or graphics, etc.
Pretty much yea
Take all the races in FF14, just show the silhouette
People would be like, oh yea these are just humans with different sliders on
Sliders and armor dye isnt ever happening with this game. No way theyre putting that kind of work into it.
Housing might, tats are probably race specific.
Itâs not impossible is my point. Yes, itâs unfortunately unlikely to happen, but should it happen? Yes. I want it to happen, and you do too, so if we make enough noise about it, then it increases the likelihood of it happening.
I know that it would take effort to do these things, but these are things that modern MMORPGs have had for a long time. Why shouldnât they spend the resources to be competitive in terms of features? Hell, they could probably make a lot of money from it, especially from player housing if they do it ESO style.
I can see the qqstorm now if $100 houses started showing up in the Blizzard store.
The resources are better used elsewhere. Itâs really just that simple.
