Wow this is idiotic at best. So you think that investors want to see dev teams constantly shake things up and make drastic changes to keep their job security rather than invest significantly fewer resources into a well oiled machine that people just throw money at?
Next time, just for s&g’s try NOT talking about things you have no knowledge of
If I were leading an army into battle and I looked behind me and a massive number of my troops were in the wind I don’t think I would consider that to be an excellent state.
I really liked the dungeons and the first raid in BFA (I quit pretty early on so didn’t experience any of the other raids), but I absolutely hated the gearing. Azerite Armor was just not fun for me, not to mention that it didn’t drop from M+ — but seriously, I’d feel kind of bad when I got a new piece, because I’d have to look up its whatever they were (not sockets, but something like that) to see if it was an upgrade, or which spec it might be an upgrade for… and then there was the necklace that needed to be upgraded…
I just didn’t enjoy the gearing process, and that plus RL getting a little busier made me step away.
Gearing right now in Shadowlands though is fantastic, imo. You can pretty easily gear through rated PVP or M+. Or if you prefer solo questing, there seem to be options for that. I didn’t think I’d like Torghast at all (and I really don’t like it solo), but getting some extra talents with a group to get materials for another legendary can be pretty fun.
I feel like if we had BFA gearing SL’s would of been much better. The issue with azerite was the fact that none of the pieces were universal, meaning the traits could be very bad for your spec, or simply not work at all. They carried them over with conduits which was 100% better given you had better control. Yet gear was a constant issue this expansion, especially in the second and third raids.
Nerfing gear drops was a bad idea, especially when you compounded it with no re roll tokens either. I feel like tokens should come back honestly if their going to keep drop rates the same. With the latter being un-nerfing drop rates.
Well, obviously I missed most of SL, coming in at patch 9.2.5… but one thing that I really like is that I don’t have to raid to have decent gear. I can gear up from PVP or M+, and that gives me good enough gear to do whatever content I’d like.
I’m not sure that having this at the beginning of an expansion would be loved by all, because it might mean that people just stop raiding. But maybe they can do something about raids to make them more similar to M+, where you can just get a group on the fly, without having to schedule time around it, and go for it. Maybe that’s what they are experimenting with with Fated raids. I’d kind of like to see what would happen if they scrapped the weekly raid lockout idea… or maybe keep it like they do with Mythics, and allow pushing raids the same way, without lockout.
