I can’t get over how boring WoW has become over the years.
Retail WoW has basically been the same since Legion, with every expac feeling like nothing but reskins. Every season resets your progress so you’re forced to regear up for PvP, Mythic+, and raids, which is also the only content Blizzard puts serious effort into.
Leveling battlegrounds are abandoned.
Random battlegrounds are ruined by premades.
Every season, our progress gets reset.
The open world (outside of Midnight) is abandoned.
The open world is nothing but world quests, it’s so boring.
We only get Allied Races that nobody asked for.
The last truly good new class we got was back in Legion, who the @#$% asked for evokers?
Leveling has been abandoned.
When I see famous private servers (that Blizzard is shutting down) putting in more work with a fraction of the budget, it really puts into perspective just how lazy and greedy Blizzard has become and how much we’ve allowed them to lower our standards.
I know im not burnt out with wow as i wouldn’t being having fun on these custom wow private servers if i did.
All games are the same. Baseball, basketball, football, chess, checkers, bridge, Texas Holdem, bad mitten, golf, pin the tail on the donkey, they are all the same from game to game.
What you’re looking for is probably closer to classic, there’s next to no chance that retail wow leveling becomes as relevant as before or that it stops being seasonal.
As for famous private servers it’s a bit different when you ask for a box price and sub price. I would be ready to bet that they would easily lose most of their population if they did have the same as wow, a big part of the attraction of private servers always has been that they’re f2p.
If you have any idea for world content feel free to share them.
Have you tried horizontal progression games like guildwars or eso? I personally find them more enjoyable than vertical games and by their nature all content is evergreen even if it isnt the most recent.
I’d have it era actually. Some classic players really liked spamming av like 2 rotations for 2 key upgrades to be “done”. done as in aqu/bwl/mc are farms and final pvp set was to try at naxx. Odd balance there…raid roids and better gear to help out.
It was good gear. technically mc was not useless past phase/season 1. It could run BWL. Its jsut some have some fliter that visually blocked out all those dudes in gear from av spam. Get enough later stage R geared av spammers in a wth BWL run…sure bring that MC gear.
Wrath would be cutoff legit though. In our 2019 redo wrath the ilevel squished ulduar and ToGC. OG wrath had ilevels ToGC was much better.our redo made them much closer in ilevel.
Now the punchline….even with the squish, many still preferred Togc. it’s not a walking simulator and if RNG hates you…well you found in record time. Speed fails can be nice. Its better than taking 2 hours to fail.
You could wear the MC set in Naxx 40 and be fine, at least as a Resto Shaman. The tier set margins between each other were extremely close.
In Retail the margins are not extremely close, it’s like 50 ilvls for the next upgrade (starting from Adventurer), it’s dumb. Blizzard has lost the plot.
I’d take their side on leveling bg. I cannot lie, that was one of the best features of wrath then cata. Fun pvp, nice xp to have you go I can be here for hours really. Many alts were in the valley to level. Lots of people like it, lots of people kept this popping often. Good times.
last we had that retail was 15th KAV. that was fun. Hate pvp? Go level the “right” way. Didn’t like bfa leveling…go drek/van or kek it for a bit.
If you don’t have much time to play, you’ll fall behind the players who do. If you were keeping up with seasonal content, you’d likely finish your goals before the season ends and be waiting for new content instead.
You’re also frustrated because you’re behind, not necessarily because the game is boring.
As for organized PvP teams, don’t blame the game when you’re matched with random PuGs. You can join a PvP guild or community and build your own team. If you choose not to use those resources, you’re limiting yourself to unorganized groups.
Legacy content is there for players who want to experience it. There are ten previous expansions, and most veterans already played them when they were current. They don’t want to grind that old content again. The remaining players are spread across all those expansions, so naturally the population is thin. Most of the player base is focused on the current expansion.
Nope. You needed gear from BWL and/or AQ, plus some PvP gear. If you only cleared MC, you’d struggle in Naxx. At least that was my experience back in Vanilla.
In Classic, I got bored of raid logging after gearing up in MC and Onyxia. I quit before BWL even released.
Is your time worth nothing? Most people earn the monetary cost of their sub shortly after arriving at work. I can’t imagine earning 250,000g that quickly.
In 2019 then anniv unless you found some unusually generous crews…AQU/ r14 gear.
Anniv speed running, or what passes for it in naxx, was not uncommon. So…throw in raid roids to that too. AH priciing was ugly as hell by 3 run of this too
You could find easier requirement crews. But…they’d be not the majority of what was in lfg.
The fun fact about wow can and has been…if even blizzard didn’t force gear upgrades, players will/did.
How many hours a day do you work? If it’s over 1 hour then I have you beat.
You guys need to make sure you know what you’re talking about first before you use that tired cliche of “oh I can just go do something I hate for hours on end”. (Unless you love your job of course, then good for you!)
You were gonna work anyway, so it’s a moot point, you’re just spending money while I’m not lol.
