I honestly don’t think WoW’s community is that bad - overall, it’s pretty good, but there are a few outliers who just seem to get off on insulting players for no reason - outliers the greater community as a whole seems happy to allow to exist, or at the very least just turns a blind eye to them.
They might be a minority, but the fact that they’re welcomed in some circles paints what would otherwise be a fantastic community in a bit of a bad light. We really need to speak up to pointlessly abusive players more often.
That said, things like RaiderIO (and the resultant exclusion) aren’t a problem at all. More a symptom of the way the game has been designed.

I do, but almost never from the actual elites. I primarily see it from the tryhards that manage to somehow get themselves carried to AOTC or CE and then complain about how ‘easy’ the game is. I don’t think I’ve ever really run into elitism from people that I actually know push hard on content. Some of which go out of their way to pick off specs and do crazy things because they can.
Unfortunately… it seems blizz listened to them (the tryhards) when designing shadowlands
