+5 points to griffindor for using an insightful quote from a delightfully under-rated and obscure star-trek character.
your confusing Q for Wesley crusher
The cause seems to be under performance. At this stage of the patch people can’t afford to carry anyone. Pick your content level better and you won’t get nasty whispers.
Unless you’re a tank because you’ll still get called trash if you don’t do things the 4 different ways the 3 dps and healer each think it should be done.
Lol!
I think mean people make their own punishment over time. Random bad things happen to everyone, but if you are a mean person then you attract the kind of “friends” you deserve.
Ummm op…this isnt new
Wows always been a bubbling sesspool of trolls and elitist neckbeards…
If you are filling that up maybe its you. I don’t wanna be mean but I’m just saying
Its not a long term relationship its ok
Welcome to the internet
Don’t put yourself in a position to be criticised and it won’t happen. I’ve ran competitive content like RBGs before but I went in knowing I would be called out if I was bringing the team down.
That’s not really fair or accurate since you can pretty much fill that with a weekend in trade chat.
What is the definition of “cesspool” ?
Lol? Uhh…
I think the only time I’ve ever felt bullied in this game is when I got kicked from a group for informing my team we were going the wrong way and they needed to come back
So basically 4 people in a group hadn’t been bullied enough and were still clueless
WoW is no longer a game played for fun. It’s a competition to get the best gear, the highest parses, the fastest dungeon times, the quickest clears. Everything in WoW can be measured and as a result a value can be ascribed to a player based on his numerical performance or lack thereof. That’s why there’s so many more try-hard weekend warriors in it than say FF14 or ESO, because everyone wants to think they’re a pro player when really they’re not. So you get much more elitist behavior than in those games you mentioned.
Kind of like those weekend golfers who show up at the course with $5000 worth of clubs and equipment but they’re really just hackers like everyone else. Though those weekend golf hackers probably aren’t mean to the baddies they have to play a foursome with, because of the risk of taking a club to the face if they do so.
In the grand internet scheme, the WOW forum is pretty tame.
In game chats, that can get a bit racy.
But all in all the worst in this place is being called a PG rated name or two.
It can be unpleasant, but is hardly a back breaking cesspool. At the worst, being annoyed or irritated is about as far as is worth feeling in the game or forum context.
Man this thread just confirming what OP said. Wow is a bully cesspool.
I don’t think specifying “WoW” is accurate, because theres a lot of bullying everywhere.
In other words, there are a bunch of a-holes everywhere, but also nice people too.
Same goes for WoW. There are nice people out there. You just have to find them.
Just journey through guilds. I wouldn’t recommend the ones that have hundreds of members though.
Really? That bad?
I don’t know, maybe my view is too jaded now a days, but nothing in this thread was all that bad or offensive.
Maybe I need to go back to Empathy School though.
Usually the people who bully others in online gaming are people who get bullied in real life or take out their real life frustrations out on people in game. Pretty dumb and if this happens to me I fire back with mass amounts of sarcasm and it usually shuts them up.
Which advice would that be?
Was there something you needed clarification on?
