Quite literally is comparable, especially with the expected pruning and dumbing down of mechanics from the loss of weakauras. WoW mechanically is not very hard outside of the top 1% and in that we can see the top 1% of console players capable of playing to that level.
When would this happen?
Ohhhhhhhh, another “wow is easy” post from someone who doesn’t even do the hardest content. Got it.
Console player wont ever be competitive in wow lol. Maybe competitive in casual world lmao.
Keys below 15s are easy, mythic bosses by the end of the patch are easy beyond wall bosses at the end of the raid, 2-3 mythic bosses are puggable at this very moment, and solo shuffle is legit an afternoon worth of play to hit 1800 and if you are decent enough higher.
Ok I can think of a way they can add 40 keybinds to your basic PS or XBox controller .
I will use Xbox as an example since I have one for some games like Diablo , Doom etc.
1:
pad each direction is a button so 4 buttons
2: 2 thumb sticks with push down equaling 2 more buttons
3: XYBA buttons adds 4 more .So adding up to a total of 10 buttons .
Now you are thinking Veid you said 40 but you’ve only given 10 .
Well quite simple there is also 4 buttons in the front and 3 can be used for modifiers like shift, ctrl and alt that can be used with any of the other 10 button options I mentioned above .
So 10 keybinds based of the original 10 button options and 10 more per modifier equaling 40
Looking at talent previews I am not seeing that many ability removals. Certainly not down to 4-5 abilities. (By the way, people play FF14 with a controller just fine and it has as many if not more buttons than WoW)
Mods are not going away. They are just reducing the amount of information combat addons can read so mods will no longer trivialize mechanics.
Just seems like an accessibility thing to me. Again, you can play MMO’s with a controller. I had a fellow raider that played WoW with a controller no problem.
All online games have MTX these days. Means nothing.
What does the price of tea in China have to do with anything?
good if i can play wow effectively on a controller. my old hands aint gettin any younger. carpal tunnel is a pain
Ion doesn’t sound like he has console porting on his mind (timestamped link):
Ion also said the addon prune would be a soft rollout. Where is that soft rollout? The dude says a lot of things and his mind changes like the wind blows.
There are a lot of reasons to believe it, but i just can’t see WoW running on console hardware.
There are literally years of videos for FF14 players on console pad configurations.
If they could do it there, WoW can do it here.
-Removes all combat advantage addons but leaves trivial ones at this point
-Literally go look at classes being played on alpha right now
-Console players love MTX and it is the cornerstone of console games to target younger players with them
-Microsoft bought Acti-Blizz awhile ago, try and keep up?
Been hearing this for like a decade.
??? This makes no sense at all. The tenders are used for their little monthly trading post and literally NOTHING ELSE. This isn’t some “battle pass”. It’s a small side thing to get a few monthly cosmetics easily ignored by the other 99.9% of content. A battle pass has you spending real money for real rewards. Not in-game currency for a couple transmog and a mount reskin that changes every month.
For this game to have a battle pass, Tenders would be only one of the rewards in it. You’d get pets, other transmog, possibly mounts, etc. for spending real money. Not an ignorable in-game currency shop.
If you truly believe they did that SOLELY to put Warcraft on console, bud, how HIGH are you?
This game, whether on 3rd party system or not, will have you paying a monthly sub completely unconnected to “Microsoft game pass”. You’d be logged in to your battle . net account just to play the game. Microsoft game pass has nothing to do with it.
And this game has already been a cash cow for 21 years. Did you forget they sold a $90 MOUNT?
It going to console isn’t going to make as big of an impact as you think. Most of the people who get a console edition are those that have already been playing for years or decades. In other words, those who have already made the game a cash cow.
WoW almost completely relies on your CPU and is terribly optimized on PC. Not taking into account a massive amount of addons you could run it on a potato and present day consoles are more than a potato.
Seems like pointless doom posting.
When they gutted WoW’s classes the first time, people said the same thing and it didn’t happen.
LMAO no.
The market for WoW is a rounding error. They bought CoD and got this as a little gift bag trinket.
Putting it on consoles may be the (bad) plan, but if this goes on the $30 plan then that is a kiss of death. Casual gamepass users are going to hate WoW, and longtime players are gonna take a serious critical look at its value proposition at that price.
Yes, just like CoD uses CoD points WoW can use trader’s tender just like they do for the deluxe expansion purchases and other store MTX. Additionally, the price raise doesnt have to be for just WoW, however it would be very odd to raise your price that much out of the blue at the same time WoW is neutered to look like a console game. Console players bring in a ton of money and it would have a huge effect on their bottom line. Look at TERA, its pc game shut down years ago but they continue to develop for console. Why? Because console MTX is a massive sub-industry of the gaming industry alone.
Console players will never be able to do hard content they’ll need to jump on their pc’s.
