WoW Hotfixes - Updated July 13

Why so many “hotfixes” all the sudden? Unprecedented activity from blizzard.

“Guys the timewalking raid actually gives good rewards and now the players are actually going out of their way to interact with this once every few months content what should we do?”

Normally, I might agree, but Timewalking is only available this week and those specific trinkets will not be obtainable again for several months.

When are you going to buff frost dk?

i honestly want to see rogue go back to the roots of Sub is the pvp spec, Sin is the ST, and Combat (outlaw) is the AoE… make them specialized again

Hey all! Here are today’s hotfixes.

May 25, 2023

Dungeons and Raids

  • Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible
    • Fixed an issue allowing players who had completed Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible: Echoes of the Earth-Warder on any difficulty to access later encounters on higher difficulties.
    • The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn
      • Developers’ note: The Zskarn changes address an emerging tactic that trivializes certain aspects of the encounter. We hope these changes will encourage more interaction with the encounter’s existing mechanics, while maintaining its prior level of difficulty. These changes will be live 5/26.
      • The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn health reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Dragonfire Golem health reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Zskarn will now Berserk on all difficulties.
      • Adjusted the position of Dragonfire Traps.
      • Shrapnel Bomb reduced to 3 on Mythic difficulty (was 4).
      • Fixed an issue that could cause an inappropriate amount of Shrapnel Bombs to spawn.
      • Zskarn no longer activates Tactical Destruction based on his location.
  • The Underrot
    • Fixed an issue where Sporecaller Zancha’s Festering Harvest would not destroy spore pods.

Enemies and NPCs

  • Fixed an issue where the Treasure Goblin is spawning multiple times consecutively in Valdrakken.

Items and Rewards

  • Reduced the mana granted by Serpent’s Grand Charm to 2,400 (was 12,000) to correctly account for how healer mana pools are calculated.
  • The Diablo Promotion Charms effects will no longer be applied while in Raids, Rated PVP and M+ Dungeons.
    • Developers’ notes: The effects won’t immediately reapply when you leave these instances. You will need to relog to get them to apply again. We are looking into a possible fix for this.

Mounts

  • The Savage Green Turtle will no longer be summoned from the favorite mount list on land when it is favored and will now be prioritized when in water.

Player versus Player

  • Fixed an issue with capturing the Risen Spirits during the Classic Ashran Brawl.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue where “Seismic Ceremony” would not complete for players who only killed Runestone Fragments and did not click any Primalist Runestones.

Trading Post

  • “Complete Weekly Crafting Quests” and “Fulfill Personal Crafting Orders” activities should once again appear in the Travelers Log.

Is this gonna happen soon or … what? Because the rate still hasn’t increased.

I’m sorry but boss tuning midweek is very unfair. For all guilds that raid on the weekends and guilds that have not killed it yet will have to completely reprog the boss meanwhile guilds have already extended their lockout to avoid having to reclear the boss ever again before prog ends. Please push this change to weekly reset

We have asked this consistently in other threads, so figured I’d ask here:

What do the developers see as the primary activity in Zaralek Caverns?

Because there’s quite literally no other activity. The Mini-Events are on the same timer that you set the rares to - so saying they are the primary activity would make zero sense. Researchers Under Fire and the World Boss are weekly, so again, it would make no sense. There’s no other activities in the zone. Quite Literally no other activities.

Did you guys just create an entire huge zone that you don’t expect players to spend any time in other than to do the story quest, do RuF and World Boss, then never enter again?

Cause you created a ghost zone with this change.

Please Revert It.

Forbidden Reach was a mini-patch and saw 10000% more activity than Zaralek Caverns, a main patch of the game. That’s honestly just sad.

Uh… what? Why?

Rework forst and UH dk

This is all based on the world first kill and subsequent copycat kills. They abused him by hiding in a corner, and when Zskarn hit 100 energy, they dragged him to the other side of the room so the Tactical Destruction would fire over there and not where the raid was.

This is supposed to stop any and all attempts at doing what World First did and force you to kill the boss normally, which ironically was almost impossible.

Plans on fixing the multi-gigabyte memory leak with the crafting UI? It’s been a bug since prepatch.

Also, people are still botting running into walls all day on snowstorm mount for infinite snowball drops, since for some reason that’s the primary source of snowballs outside of winterveil and midsummer events. Yes, that FOMO time limited store mount is the main source of a reagent for a primary stat feast, and botters have been abusing this.

Also a bunch of fishing bots still at it for half a year. Seeing the same toon names and their operator logging off and on between different toons to avoid server side detection. AFAIK, would be easy to detect if you had a kernel anti-cheat detecting injected inputs/RDP, but as per the classic post your developers made on bots, it’s too hard to add a kernel a/c or off the table entirely.

I looked through the notes and didn’t see it. Did they fix not being able to roll need on Aberrus gear if you upgraded a lower difficulty’s gear past the base ilvl? I got a tier piece out of LFR but I’m afraid to fully upgrade it because I wouldn’t be able to roll on a normal drop.

Yes! Thank you WoW team!

Sooooo we’re just gonna casually slip in this GIGANTIC change?

my guess is that it’s now based on where the majority of the raid is, which is how it should’ve been from the start.
