Resto Shaman is a great entry to healing

I haven’t healed since WoTLK so I am completely new to retail healing.

And I must say, I was hating both dps specs of shaman, but then I tried resto and it feels good. The class doesn’t sound like a chain of explosions every time I press a button, it feels pleasant to play.

Resto felt so easy to pick up, The gameplay is super fun, your DPS rotation is ranged, players generally know to stand in rain near my totems I noticed so that is good. Resto is great. And from someone coming into the spec with no experience with it, it feels complete. I heard it was victim to major pruning…doesn’t feel that way to me.

Can’t say the same about Enhance and Elemental.

We had some pretty intense pulls last night in timewalking. I had a DH that did not stop and it was a great check for me. I love my cooldowns they feel good to use. It makes me curious to try other healers so I started a Monk.

EDIT: Yes the UI is bad for healing. :frowning:

how can you judge pruning if you didn’t know what it was like before?

Because if it was pruned heavily like everyone says then it was needed because the class feels great now.

Great perspective. I for one am in the camp that healing specs should have an easy back oven path in the talent trees, and a more complex one rewarding higher level of play through effort and understanding.

I dislike it when the community states holy priest, resto shaman are entry level healers .. it shouldn’t be this way. It’s an inverse of the vanilla hero classes, where they had the expectation of being more advanced and powerful through the proficiency of the player

Especially now with the addon changes. I’m already seeing longer ques because tanking and healing is becoming less tolerated by the players.

It’s not just more difficult because of us without tools to navigate the encounters, it’s DPS not knowing, and being punished by mechanics.. healers have to work even harder now to make up for the lack of performance of everyone

You realize that if a spell is there, nobody is forcing you to use it, right?

Resto Shamans lost Thunderstorm for example. It was a talent, so you didn’t even need to pick up the talent. But it was there if you wanted to. That was nice.

Now it’s just gone, and yes, the specialization is worse for it.

Classic and retail players have different expectations. Turning retail into classic is not it.

Lol…whatev.

That is a bummer but worse things happened to other classes.

No class in retail feels like classic. Sorry budro.

No, but classic players want less complexity. And anything towards that goal is a step in the right direction.

The problem with pruning is Blizzard wanted to remove buttons, and someone who doesn’t play, removed random things to satisfy a directive.

Yeah, it’s really evident who has not played classic in a long time/ever. MoP is the most complex of the classic expansions and it is similar if not a bit simpler even after the pruning. Before the pruning, pretty much every spec in retail was more complex than any spec in MoP.

That’s nice.

I wrote a positive thread about healing and you’ve been crapping on it since I posted it. Do you have anything else to add to the conversation or?

You’re right.

  1. You acknowledge that it’s a “bummer”, meaning: something bad.
  2. You acknowledge that changes made to other classes are even worse.

You’re aware that Midnight is garbage and ruined everything. You’re already based and redpilled, I hate nothing to teach you.

Okay Slapface, darn. I was hoping to learn from you oh great one?

I’m asking basic questions because you don’t have the experience to back up your claims.

Namely this one. Maybe you like the current version, that’s fine, but don’t make claims about the past.

Everyone does.
I wish I could split into several entities so that the entire world may benefit from my unparalleled wisdom. But it is what it is.

My experience is that I’m having fun with this class and spec. Sorry you do not agree. I don’t care.

You can have fun with something that is worse than what existed before. Doesn’t mean the version you’re playing is actually better.

We do as well, otherwise we would have quit the game.

We’re still having fun, just like you are.
Our point is that we were having even more fun before.

I don’t care. I like the way it is now. Adding you and slappedface to ignore. Have a good day.

Is Blizzard in full damage control mode and paying forum posters?

I like partaking in online discussions because it’s a constant reminder that I’m smarter than whoever I’m talking to.

Quickest and easiest ego boost.
