Honestly this game isn’t going to get better if the Devs are only listening to the players that are still Subbed. For all they know they’re just continuing to build upon broken systems because people are so used to eating take out rather then fine dining.
Blizzard really needs to break up with WoW youtubers, twitch streamers, the 0.5%er’s if we as a player base want a fundamentally better game.

I would hope this is not Blizzard’s only source of feedback.
Though I imagine at some point they started caring more about player engagement and not player enjoyment.
Which is pretty standard for a live service game these days, but it mostly results in games that are good enough and not amazing. It also make them a lot of money cause it keeps people around, even if it the video game equivalent of fast food.
Because people who cancel subs don’t matter.
Did you attempt to think about your response?

You think they listen to players? lol

Is there something in the water? GD is a special brand of dumb today.

Pretty sure it’s just implied that’s what they were going for. They aren’t gonna ask people who never played the game before.

Echo chamber? Hah, this forum is not even remotely an echo chamber, and neither is the subbed player base. There are so many different varied opinions on what direction the game should be taken. So many different opinions on what Blizzard should and should not focus on.
But one thing that the forums are pretty focused against is the crap that people claim is ‘political’ (but just isn’t). That is where there’s a more focused opinion on the matter. And frankly, I’d rather Blizzard not even listen to the subbed people who have the wrong opinions in that regard, much less the unsubbed who have already quit.

Which is why I made a joke about that idea.

You do not need a sub for this.

OP do you actually know what an Echo Chamber means?
an environment in which a person encounters only beliefs or opinions that coincide with their own, so that their existing views are reinforced and alternative ideas are not considered.
I couldn’t think of a description further from correctly describing General Discussion.
That’s called knowing your target audience.
You think McDonalnds should suddenly start selling Caviar and Lobster?

Ah… couldn’t tell it was a joke.

non-subscribers have no input on wow things. How it should be.

Eh. I think there’s a middle ground to be found here. I certainly don’t think it’s a good idea to have randos posting on GD who’ve never played the game. Perhaps tie posting privileges to having at least one character at max level in the past? If people wanna pay for boosts just to post on GD, then I say more power to them. But I suspect the vast majority will be legitimate players.
Also make it so that the requirement moves with the level cap for each expac. That way you filter our anyone who no longer has a sub and also hasn’t played the current expac. That way people who don’t have a sub but have at least played the current expac can still post.
Fun fact: You don’t need a sub to post in the CS forum.

Rereading it I acknowledge that it does come across as dismissal of the very idea of getting feedback from anyone not regularly playing wow. Rather than just specifically the notion of seeking feedback from people who have never played it. And I’m kinda disappointed in myself for that now
It’s gone now.

Maybe reread this statement a few times to yourself. I’ll wait.

Wow I’m actually in shock that there’s people that can accept things like that. Huge respect to you.

Um, they barely look at this forum. Devs don’t use it. They use Twitter, Bluesky, Reddit, and the like.

“Stop listening to the people playing the game” is certainly a take someone >could< have.

So stop listening to the people that pay and play the the game to listen to people that don’t pay or play the game? As if, lol.
