Generation Crybaby
Why feel bad? If you can’t take dying in this game, don’t bother playing it. If it were me rigging these fights, I’d have the mobs t-bag your corpse until you spoke in a British accent.
u wot mate?
Yessum
I’m wondering if this whole thing is working out the way the devs intended it to, because so far (at least in the circles i travel) it’s been all “Haha, i stumbled across your tombstone in X Delve”, and basically no “I avenged you and got a buff”. In fact out of all of the tombstones i have seen, not once have i noticed any named mobs suggesting they killed my friend, nor have i noticed any buffs.
Maybe I’m just killing crap too quick and not paying any attention to names/buffs, i really don’t know.
I love it. I’m on a small server group, so I often find the headstones of guildies in delves. We screenshot and share them with each other when we find them.
I was alt-tabbed to tease my guild leader when I ran across one of his. When I came back, I’d been killed and so I took another screenshot of my tombstone right next to his. It was fun AND funny.
Also, there’s a buff when you avenge someone. I think it’s great.
(and there is no shame from dying in a delve…it’s just not serious. Try to enjoy it, and when you see a headstone in your delve, it should encourage you because it means someone out there pulled too big, struggled, or afk’d to get a beverage, and they died in here, too)
Could you imagine if they showed tombstones and Slayer titles in M+? That’d be hillarious
I love it so much! Avenging people who got slayed by mobs is great.
I love these. I also die fairly frequently in delves and imagine some other delver finding the mob that got me and revenging my death.
Who cares what some random stranger in the game thinks? You do you and have fun in there.
I’ve come across a lot of the tombstones and couldn’t tell you the name of a single one of them. Nice to know that you aren’t alone in biting the big one in a delve.
I want to leave tombstones that make people scratch their heads and ask how I managed to do that…death by misadventure, that’s my motto…
So if you see a tombstone halfway down a cliff, even if you can’t reach it to see who it is…now you’ll have at least an idea…
I love this. It reminds me of back when I’d get irritated with Lara in the first Tomb Raider game and make her dive like a swan off of a cliff just to get my aggression out. ha ha ha
/tips hat
I like it, Dunwich. I like it. I may start dying apurpose in delves, now, to see if I can spawn a headstone in someplace odd.
I hate that old bat. She seems to crop up at the least appropriate moment!
But yet we have people whispering lol’s
I would have to agree with this poster.
Yes, tombstones is promoting toxic behavior.
I actually came upon something useful yesterday when I saw multiple tombstones in the same area. It was a good warning to actually pay attention. Might’ve saved me a wipe.
You need to find a solo player game. This is an MMORPG. You get no privacy even in solo content.
But if you want to be completely ignored by everyone, go play FFXIV.
I mean, if someone ever sent me a tell to laugh at me for dying in a delve, I’d respond with, “Men of honor avenge the death of their fallen comrades.”
Also, when you see one of those, go hunt down the mob and get the buff.
It’s fun. Honestly, I wish someone would send me a tell laughing at me for dying in an 11 delve on my 650-ish rogue alt. It was an entire five-gallon bucket of shenanigans, and there are like 8 of her tombstones lying around today. I’m not ashamed of dying in a delve. Nobody can shame me for dying in a delve. There is no shame for ANYONE for dying in a delve.
Seriously, folks. Don’t let the low-rent bridge trolls win this one. This is supposed to be FUN.
If you see “Meri - Thunderlord,” that was my rogue. Feel free to laugh at me via whispers…but if you come at me with the noob lawl jokes, you better get me that avenged buff. Just sayin.
Girl…same. I’m on a small server. If there’s more than one tombstone clustered in the same area, I know that’s a problem I need to watch.
it’s not restricted to your server.
…which makes the chance of seeing someone you know, even smaller.
But I see the same names over and over again. I see randoms from other servers, but I see the names of people on MY server more often.
I see guildies in almost every delve I do. Do you think that’s a thing? Do they let you see your guildmates tombstones in some kind of preferential way? I wonder.
Wait, there’s a buff? I had no idea.
based on the sheer quantity of people who have said they’ve seen guildmates, this seems likely
