Most of the forums are a cesspool anyway. Especially General Discussion.
Itâs my understand that the CC is supposed to be more than people who engage in one type of content, people who care about story, lore, just their class etc
A fair point, but stillâŚ
I just went over to the community council forum. Its much better than this one, much more informative, less bullpucky.
Iâve spoken to a couple cc peeps, actually, and felt honored to actually communicatewith them.
Very little of what I say makes it to the CC forum, but it feels really good to be acknowledged after almost a decade of radio silence.
Iâve read posts on that section and I donât get it.
Who is the council supposed to represent? Certainly not me.
And the posts on there that are so stupid it hurts your head, you get suspended from the forums for reporting as trolling.
That entire section of the forums is a troll and not worth the effort to look at. I have a chrome extension that hides that section and changes the hideous gold text from those players back to normal.
seriously? honored? theyâre just⌠players. people who subscribe to and play the game.
To pretend blizzard is listening to them when they arenât.
Donât worry, theyâll remove it soon enough and we can stop seeing these yellow text e-celebs
None of this was due to the creation of the council. These changes are things they have been working on for the past year. The council is a long-term think tank.
The council is supposed to represent a variety of gameplay experiences and preferences. Restricting it to elite players with top gear would negate any possible value to the game, as those players would be lobbying for changes to benefit them at the expense of the majority of players.
âŚwhy?
Weâre just players lol. And in a year, most of us will lose the gold text and new people will take the spot.
Not everyone is going to agree with you. Literally impossible for that. I have no doubts at least one poster in the CC has similar ideas to you though, they may not have posted yet though.
I see it as: Blizzard created a forum where they can actually get solid feedback without having to wade thru a bunch of obnoxious posts.
Because, as a group, we are obnoxious. I know Blizzard created this situation with their failure to provided strong, consistent moderation but that doesnât change the fact.
That would be nice, i feel we are completely unheard and ignored.
I mean, thatâs me. I post my thoughts from a mostly solo player.
Well, i am only stating how i feel, considering the way the game is being pushed towards esport and raid or die.
Im glad at least one of you is a solo casual!
Really?
Because the WoW community council was introduced in November 2021 and went live in December 2021 so it hasnât even been active for six months, let alone years.
I think you might mean forum MVPs.
OP, one of the Community Council Memberâs told me that they do not represent the community, they represent themselves. I am not sure if that was what Blizzardâs idea of a council was, but that is what it ended up being.
They are on low level toons because Blizzard allowed them to be so that other players would not bother them.
There is no real point.
This used to be a huge problem in my old job.
I donât know how many ârudeâ complaints I had to deal with where it more about the employee failing to emotionally handhold over some trivial and/or self-inflected issue than actual rudeness.
âSo she answered your question and directed you to further resources, using a cordial tone and appropriate language the whole time. So where was she rude?â
âWell, she wasnât very nice.â
âArrrgggg!â
I blame Disney.
The goal was to have people from all aspects of the game, not just the ones that get the most current attention (Raiding).
I almost always agree with you. Thanks for your work on the Community Council. Donât let the angry trolls get you down.
