WoW Classic Version 1.13.7 PTR is Now Available

I wouldn’t mind the spell bashing we had from Vanilla to MoP, unfortunately the spell bashing we have in Classic is inferior and emulated (a WoW Classic dev did say it was emulated), it introduced issues never encountered with the original spell bashing so I don’t want that crap in WoW. Original spell bashing never caused issues with interrupts and never introduced arbitrary delays like you can find on Traps, Execute other trigger abilities so it has to go away, it’s a crappy version. If you find bugs just report them.

It absolutely did:

My god you take everything at face value and can’t do nuances based on previous information…sigh, old spell bashing was good enough to not cause interrupt issues like it does now, do you understand what I’m saying or it’s not nuanced enough? Do I have to repeat myself again or you just gonna ignore and forget everything we tell you?

I don’t care what you tell me; the facts are the facts.

Ok, clearly you are too thick headed and close minded, you are not constructive at all, good bye.

Spreading misinformation about batching isn’t constructive. There are archives of bug report complaints from Vanilla concerning every single thing you’re pretending never had issues.

I could go on, but is there a point? You don’t care about the facts, Silika.

Too bad you didn’t read the post you linked, seems to be your things because nobodies mentioned a delays before traps get activated when running over.

With all the information you ignored and all the selective bias you’ve done so far, you have no credibility. Where’s your video showing delays on Execute and traps? Don’t forget to nuance what you read…otherwise you’ll go selective bias again.

Your reply just show how you don’t understand what we’re telling you. I’m done for good with you.

What do you think running over them and not having them activate is? That’s a delay… people can run over them because the trigger is delayed. You are grasping at straws.

Spell batch sounds like a good change.

The video shows some smooth interactions in game. That looks great.

With regards to pvp spell batching, and some cool tricks ppl could perform, I understand that is part of the original gameplay. But if it only affect a minority of playerbase, then this QoL change is welcome.

Just because something was there 15y ago does not warrant its existence in the age of improved computers and internet. Playing with fake lag feels weird. New mechanic means new way of playing. I’m sure the arena pros will adapt. Change like this is surely welcomed by the most people.

All the tests been made bring the patch 1.13.7 live most people who talk in these forums got no idea and only theorize about this and that when the game will be fixed now, they just afraid of loosing exploits.

We’ve made the following additional bugfixes and changes to the 1.13.7 PTR.

Classes

  • Paladin seals will now persist on the Paladin for a very short time after they’re replaced by a different seal.
    • Developers’ notes: The concept of “seal twisting” was only possible due to spell batching. With a greatly reduced batch size, we’re adding a slight buffer when you swap seals to allow you to proc two in the same swing. This was not an intended interaction in Original WoW, but it’s a fun quirk of WoW Classic gameplay, and we want to allow Paladins to retain the ability to do this. Please let us know how this compares on the PTR to how seal twisting currently works on live realms.

Items

  • Mark of the Champion, Rune of the Dawn, and Seal of the Dawn’s benefits are now marked as “passive” auras and will no longer count towards the player buff cap.
  • Resolved an issue that caused some summoned guardians, such as the Arcanite Dragonling and Vanquished Tentacle of C’thun, to become stuck on defensive AI and fail to attack enemies.
  • Shadow Oil and Frost Oil can now proc while the player is on the Global Cooldown.
    • Developers’ note: Shadow Oil is still bound by an internal cooldown however, and this is intended.
  • Resolved an issue that caused the Barov Peasant Caller trinket to only spawn 1 Peasant.
  • Resolved an issue that caused the Brimstone Staff and Rhok’delar, Longbow of Ancient Keepers to not properly animate in-game.
  • Resolved several issues with the Eye of the Dead trinket:
    • Spells such as Chain Heal and Prayer of Healing now only consume a single charge.
    • Heal-Over-Time spells now properly consume a charge when used.

Naxxramas

  • Fixed a few places in the Heigan the Unclean encounter area where Plague Waves overlap and cause double damage.
  • The range of Heigan the Unclean’s Mana Burn ability is now slightly longer if Heigan is being Tanked on his platform during phase 1 of the encounter.

I need some clarification for the heigan fight, did you fix the spots so that they no longer overlap? @kaivax

Can you guys confirm that heigan’s range is now changed from how it was in vanilla? this has been a viable strat for 15 years

So regarding the seal twisting thing.

I’m fine with it for classic, but you’re going to run into sizable problems if it’s allowed in tbc too.

First with faction balance, unless you give a a seal of blood (which you should)

Secondly, even if you give alliance seal of blood to make them even with elves, there’s going to be a pretty gross amount of burst being added to an already powerfully bursty spec… Seal twisting blood + command with windfury and reckoning or crusader strike with wings is a down right comical amount of damage in a global

Tldr, even as a future elf ret, you need to break this again before tbc

What about reckoning

Another fun quirk of classic gameplay is rogues being able vanish stuff.

Please don’t try to salvage seal twisting. It wasn’t really a viable option in classic due to not having an overpowered seal to twist (seal of blood), and locking it in is just going to cause issues with the burning crusade’s paladin balance since seal of blood is horde only, and this method of seal twisting is far easier to pull off.

This version of seal twisting also has some pretty glaring differences to how it worked in the past.

Seal of Righteousness and Seal of Command can now proc off of the same white hit, this didn’t used to be possible.

Multiple ranks of seals can now also trigger off of the same white hit. Seal of Command can be twisted between ranks to get multiple procs in one swing.

This version of seal twisting is really broken and does things beyond any spell batching interactions of the past.

Supporting seal twisting like this shifts it from an odd quirk to a core design of the class, as it has large impacts on the overall class strength, and is also incredibly tedious gameplay, which is kind of the opposite of fun.

Choosing not to seal twist isn’t really an option when it’s worth 10% of your damage output.

This also forces the dancers to be further away from platform during phase 1 making the dance run longer
