Devs please consider making a single player version of wow classic designed to function well with a controller and re-tuned dungeons and raids that can be done as a solo player if not set up similar to other console live service games where we could team with other players for that kind of play. Playing Crimson Desert and enjoying it solo I thought how fun it would be to play WoW that way. Even if you kept it a live MMO with controller support it would be so awesome to play WoW portable on Switch/Switch 2 and the other handhelds like Steam Deck. Just develop the control scheme to work well with controllers or use the Switch 2 mouse controls. Do a Classic version 1st if it does well then go through the expansions. You would gain new players that do not play PC games and some players like myself that travel a lot and would be able to take my favorite game with me without having to buy a gaming laptop. Either that or consider making WoW 2 and make it for all platforms to reach as many people as possible thanks. Please consider it look at the success of open world games on consoles they have all done very well and are rapidly becoming gamer favorites.
I play classic WoW on steam deck occasionally. I believe WoW already has controller support but it’s disabled by default and not really set up to use it well.
You can install a “Console Port” addon that changes the interface to map your buttons with LT, RT, and LT+RT modifiers for additional moves.
It’s not perfect and doesn’t address the rest of what you say, but it works pretty well for just an addon.
I’m old school and not needing that sort of thing but time marches on. It’s probably coming but I’d bet to live/retail first. They’ve given little indication the company is willing to go that deep for the side chick that is Classic. Miss me with the “but what about…” of Titan Reforged or SoD. Most of that is rehashed and porting to console seems to me to be a whole different deal.

There’s way better single player games out there than WoW Classic….Like Solitaire xD
If you insist then get the add on ConsolePort. I tried it and it was cool for about 20 mins but mouse and keyboard is better for WoW imo.
Also you get to sit in the computer chair which is a lot of people’s only safe haven it seems like. Playing on the couch in the living room is way to vulnerable for most WoW players.
