WoW Celebrity Asmongold needs to understand that toxicity is wrong

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:
I know your going for exaggeration, but single player games can be played on your computer too.

Dude stop defending this pathetic virtue signaling. Asmongold is a toxic streamer who makes fun of people with disabilities and mental health disorders. Hes not genuine. Hes doing exactly what everyone else is doing on social media. They virtue signal and a week later go back to his sperging about people with autism. Hes a callous entertainer who only does stuff to get more attention and make money. Blizzard does the same thing unless it costs them money.

Remember the hongkong protests? Blizzard banned a player for vague support for the protesters. The only reason they banned him was because of their relationship with China.

China persecutes minorities in their country severely. Muslims, christians, gays, transgenders and black people dont have rights in china. Frick Blizzard. Money grubbing company that had no consistent moral standards.

I can’t stand players like Asmongold, but that’s his thing so let him stream how he wants

Why are you so obsessed with him though? That’s the real question.

Is this where we start or sign the petition to force namechange OP to “Karen”?

Not all of us. I’m so selective in passive entertainment (ie just watching a screen) that I rarely do it more than a few hours a month. I haven’t genuinely liked a movie in I don’t know how long, and haven’t watched a show where the writing didn’t go to crap after season 2. I do watch a good bit of youtube, but I rarely actually watch. I just put it in the tray and listen while I’m playing. Most of the stuff I watch on there is podcasts, stories, or interviews, none of which need to be seen and can simply be listened to.

I’m active in my hobbies. I like to play games. Sitting and passively watching someone else’s work that I probably can’t get into because I’m weird and have a hard time finding “normal” stuff interesting, not my thing. I grew up watching TV and movies but as I grew up I started to hate them. I don’t think they portray the world how it actually is, and that sucks me right out of it. Like Breaking Bad, it was interesting when he was a scared teacher in over his head, once he became scarface I lost all interest.

Movies that I do watch over and over (couple times a year) are my collection of Miyazaki films. His aesthetic sense is impeccable. Nothing else I’ve seen is really like him. I’m really really picky when it comes to passive entertainment.

Lol, nice one.

nobody is telling him not to stream how he wants. We are telling him to stop virtue signaling about toxicity when he constantly does toxic behavior to innocent people.

about as hypocritical as you can get.

Why do you think I don’t watch his channel :expressionless:

People like him truly believe in “one rule for thee, and another for me”. They are hypocrites. They speak out against something just to get noticed but flagrantly are guilty of that same thing to others.

He is the type to steal from 50 players himself but if he had something stolen would cry about it for hours to his “followers” about how unfair and wrong stealing is.

Asmongold is genuinely a positive thing for the WoW community. And I absolutely hate some of his takes and humor.

Okay I’ll bite. How is he toxic? I’ve watched hundreds of hours of his content and I haven’t seen any toxicity.

somebody posted a video evidence just a few posts up for one.

If you cannot see it then you are probably just as toxic as he is and simply numb to the point you cannot recognize it anymore. Sad.

This is what’s called “poisoning the well”. Also, you’re calling me toxic and literally all I did was ask an honest question and share my honest experience.

I said “probably” and it was based off of what you said about not finding him toxic. Your post just now was fine. It is simply a matter of building up such a tolerance you cannot notice a thing anymore, that is all. I find it impossible to believe that you don’t find him toxic and the only way I can reconcile that is my explanation above.

I get his opinion on how calling someone dumb, if they’re doing something dumb is fine. but he needs to think about what his chat does after. people in chat don’t care if Asmongold tells them to stop. they will still @ the person he’s talking about in chat or go harass the person in-game. content creators act like they’re not responsible for their chat, but they most definitely are. I think he should be careful about naming people on his stream or showing chat logs of people. at least hide their names. I just hope this is a learning experience for him in that regard.
Im still a fan of his but one example of this was in classic when that one guy got kicked out for being toxic (rightfully so), but than his chat went and harassed the guy and told him to kill himself. incredibly messed up stuff. I would link the video if I could but its on YouTube
the video is called, " Asmongold EXPOSES Toxic Guild Member And Kicks Him".

So? It was still an insulting thing to say.

In my experience toxic people often project their toxicity onto other people. It’s a way of deflecting attention from their own toxicity, and creating a scapegoat to blame. Toxic people often like to hide behind “plausibile deniability”; in other words, insulting people either directly or indirectly, casting aspersion and accusations at them, and then trying to deny it by saying it was “only a joke” or “just an opinion”…

Just saying.

Okay, I’ll give you the first 10-15 minutes but did it really take you “the last couple weeks” to figure out he’s a toxic waste of energy? Thats on you. Every ounce of energy you give him means you’re condoning his behavior.
