I haven’t formed any opinions about anything, and specifically stated that I haven’t played other games to do so. The OP said WoW is the best, and I said a lot of people will disagree – which a lot of people do. Nothing more.
Most popular? Maybe.
Best? Mmm, subjective.
In your opinion ™
I’m really glad that this isnt the case. As wow is moving further and further into the ARPG genre the other MMO’s are focusing more and more on the RPG elements.
To quote americans “freedom” we are free to like it, not like it, be indifferent…I don’t get the whole ramming it down each others throat thing. I find it lacks in most regards except I like the sandbox pvp, although its dying of neglect and a change in playerbase that takes away from it, it still has a better sandbox pvp then other games…for now.
If all you want is to play mog-it-barbie and that makes it the most exciting game you’ve ever dreamed could exist…ermmm ok I’m glad you enjoy it, if that were my thing I’d play on a Cryengine graphics game. Subjective, I live in a free country, I think its a dying game with poor quality for this generation.
Oh WoW is popular, just seemingly 50% of the time it’s for all the wrong reasons.
MMO’s are not super popular anymore. It’s not a groundbreaking genre.
Oh that’s crazy, even on Illidan (the highest pop horde realm) all I see is name-realm
I’ve yet to see someone from Illidan lol. But it’s okay you do you lmao
Just because you don’t see them does not mean they aren’t there. Sharding splits CRZ up even further. But you do you.
I like stats and demographics, my background is psych with a big interest in history and human geography so I went in search of reference points. Steam claims they now have one billion accounts, 9% of which are actively used…but active doesn’t mean in use, it means they were created, registered and never officially closed by those that opened them by which token Steam has one billion active accounts.
Fully three quarters of my friends list is offline, at least half have been gone months, many of them for years, they are still active accounts, the data is still there. When I look around my server on my older toons, places that used to field av matches without relying on cross realm queues you can’t find enough people in /2 to field a 40 player team, there are 22 level 1-120 and its prime time for that server. They blended it with two other servers, total population of 120s during prime time…50 total including those in instances etc. Tell yourself this game is still popular and busy, it might seem that way with all the smoke and mirrors used but it takes 30 minutes for them to get a 25-40 player bg together of all 120s from all servers. During early bc before crossrealm you could sign up for bgs by number, “hey we’re in wsg 7 and an opening just came up join us!”…one server with 8-15 wsg matches going for 10-19s, is there that many in all of wow going right now? Is this game dead? No, not our wow, what would we do if we suddenly didn’t have wow anymore? lol
The need to proclaim the game that you’re playing as the “best” is peculiar to me. Especially since that’s so subjective and can’t really be judged based off of semi-accurate population data.
WoW is better for twitch/esports, but the story and the community often leave something to be desired.
ESO/FFXIV/SWTOR aren’t good for twitch/esports, but their stories are much more coherent and they have solid world building.
I don’t have much experience with GW2 but it seems like it has some pretty off-the-wall ideas/content, and I know that there’s story content that’s allegedly pretty solid.
But I wouldn’t consider any of them to be “the best”.
Try to get through that thick skull of yours and realize the ONLY REASON YOU SEE ANYONE is because of CRZ. If CRZ didn’t exist, It’d literally be barren.
See, I don’t recall denying that sub numbers might be low right now. They probably are. BfA has been one dumpster fire after another. But I still see a lot of people out in the world doing things right now. Are the majority of them from other servers thanks to CRZ? Perhaps, which I guess makes my anecdotal evidence inaccurate. But to claim that they are ALL from other servers is also inaccurate.
Thanks to CRZ.
You don’t say?!
I feel like I might have acknowledged this recently…
looks right above this post
McDonalds is the best and greatest restaurant!
Kobe steak is garbage because millions of people don’t eat it every day like they do MceeDee’s!
I’m a total nab when it comes to forums, lore and all that, but WoW’s a dead piece of nothing without Sylvanas and such characters, I know that much… So idc if I look like a nub asking this here, or anywhere… But it’ll drive me deez nutz.
IS Sylvanas going to die in Shadowlands? Is there a hint of it anywhere? Maybe turned back to her former s"elf" atleast… Just don’t kill her?
I really want to pre-order Shadowlands but damn, I don’t want to invest time in a game of WoW if it’s gonna be spent on waiting for her to be in any way removed from the present time-line. Please don’t turn her into another star above Azeroth
she wants to set us all free afterall… It’s a good thing.
Yours truly, Sylvie’s fanboi no.1
