Would you recommend wow to anyone?

I’d recommend Classic WoW.
BfA? Definite no.

Think about wow’s content, like how do you even tell a friend like hey want to come join while we do online chores so we can do something we did like 10 years ago without a grind. This game used to have amazing content and flying was just a small thing. Now we have this garbage content just so we can fly? TLDR Hell no, I would not even ask my friends who used to play wow to come try it out.

No. But I would definitely recommend FFXIV.

What this one said.

If friend has a time machine to back 10 or 15 years, sure.

For my friend who just likes to quest and who plays very minimally, yes I would.

For a hardcore gamer or even someone casual like myself, then no I wouldn’t.

Yes, and no.

The pros to joining into WoW:

  • Playing with friends!
  • WoW is far more fun with friends.
  • There’s various things to do between sessions with friends.
  • Mounts, pets, transmog, Pet battles, duels, pvp, dungeons, raid, all of it can be used as an “in between” type of breaking up only playing with friends.

The Cons however…

  • Getting to hardcore into a specific type of content can leave you deficient in others.
  • Grindy, grindy world quests and leveling.
  • Outside of time with friends, it can get very boring.
  • Luxuries (such as flying, high-end consumables, not paying to play [gold]) are all hard to get initially.
  • If you play alts and want to push content with friends, there’s a lot of catching up to do.
  • Developers seemingly have plans for every spec, but many times those plans don’t exactly work out (see pre 8.1 shadow, pre 8.1 disc, pre 8.1.5 windwalker, post 8.1 resto druid, pre 8.1 resto shaman, and many more specs that were rather weak and required bandaid buffs or full warranted buffs.)
  • Developer communication has always been a sorely lacking aspect when it comes to understanding what developers intend to do with the game.
  • The community is less than favourable for various reasons (we’re ALL guilty of this, don’t try and lie to me.)
  • The game can get quite stagnant when content like the current has come out (Note: 8.2 isn’t innately bad for everyone, but for an individual like myself… grinding is not fun. My playtime has been dramatically reduced.)
  • Various currencies often leave individuals with a large stockpile, and nothing viable to spend it on (see MoP cooking tokens.)
  • Various levels of players (Noobs, Casuals, Hardcore-casual, Semi-casual, Hardcore, Extremely hardcore) exist, and are usually searching for a way to interact and engage with others during PvP and PvE content.
  • Alts are difficult to maintain unless you commit an equal amount of time to all of them and condense as much content into their allotted timeframe.

Honestly, I don’t have any friends to tell or suggest this game due to my health issues. If I had friends I would tell them to check it out and decide for themselves.

Not until the factions are either removed or balanced.

Yes, but only if they have friends to play it with.

I would recommend classic WoW to anyone remotely interested in mmorpg’s.

BfA? I’d be more likely to talk someone interested in it out of playing it.

Yes- like others have said, just to have more people to play with.

Unfortunately I’ve tried several times but none of my IRL friends are into MMORPGs

Im new to it. Tried to get into it before but never could. Tried this time since eso is crap now, and i really like it this time. Maybe i have to be end game to see why some dont like it. Maybe eso is so bad now i really appreciate the no lag, no 20min loading screen, no constant nerfs. So far really like it.

And here we have the elusive “solo player in a multiplayer game.” Existence in Azeroth with no friends is a lonely experience, but somehow, this little gremlin continues to trudge along.

Your very existence amuses me. This “community” has been a continues source of laughter for me. Keep whining please.

i would recommend to wait for classic if they want real mmo, instead of session live service

I wouldn’t recommend any MMO to a person I know.

There are better things they could be doing with their life.
