Thank you!!
Raise the rates to something do able. Let people have fun while playing the game.
Even if you gifted rare mount 157 to everyone not everyone would even use it.
The irony is i see fewer goblin trikes than ashes and golden flying compensating dragons.
Its amazing how much people value chores all of a sudden. My favorite is the guy that openly admits to getting lucky and wouldnt you know it he thinks mounts should remain low drops lol.
Disagree from me. The whole reason for bad luck protection in current content is because it actually takes effort and is currently tuned to characters. The RPing of old bosses make be annoying and take time, but its a simple faceroll afterwards with no difficulty. IMO that is the exchange you make to farm classic, rare mounts.
It’s impressive during current content. I dont see anyone with invincible and think they are anything but lucky.
My focus on running old content has shifted from mount collecting to transmog collecting so although I still do chase a few mounts, I no longer feel bad about giving up on one.
Ha, interesting. Ok so just the time-sink gate is worth something (it is a sacrifice of time from doing progression content instead). Well, I’ve been educated then and the current system “works” well enough.
Mount collecting is a 100% optional activity that has no effect on character power, unlike RNG drops such as 8.0 Azerite and Legiondaries. There shouldn’t be any bad luck protection to an optional activity that doesn’t effect in game performance.
They are fine as is.
I am perfectly okay with the drop rates but omg I would be ever so happy if I could get Arthas to shut up and cut his speech short.
I’m not sure I accept that axiom.
Cool, I don’t care.
Let rare mounts be rare, bad luck protection isn’t necessary.
At this point in the product life cycle, yes, there should defintely be bad luck protection for legacy content like mounts.
ESPECIALLY THOSE DAMN PANDA WORLD BOSSES! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
oh my god no
reproggresing mythic raids - even old ones - with poorly geared pug players doing a fraction of the dps of an actual player, and who have no idea how to kill the bosses sounds awful.
(have you SEEN how bad some of the people are you get in old content mog farming runs??)
Additionally, I want to be able to farm old content on my own scrubby, under-performing alts.
keep that stuff trivial.
If you don’t care what others think, they might not care about what you think.
Bad luck is just as infuriating if not more so to a completionist collector chasing a drop for years is going to feel just as bad as a progression/competitive player would have felt not getting a legiondary to drop for a few weeks.
(that all said, I didn’t mean to offend)
Nah I’d either leave it as it or remove them from the drop tables all together.
someone above said they’d make the drop chance floor 1%, and get rid of the super super super low .000035% (or w/e) drop rates.
I’d agree with this. 1% is low, but doesn’t feel futile to try to farm.
I don’t think there should be any form of bad luck protection though.
You can still have mounts be rare, but not let them be stupid and time-wasting to get. I really think making the mount guaranteed to drop (or at least significantly more guaranteed) after X amount of kills would be a great change.
Think about it for a minute – 100 kills still takes a lot of farming to do, especially on a single character. After the 100th kill, I think it should either be a 100% drop on the 101st kill, or a much more likely drop afterwards. A grind has been done - one that many people may not be willing to do anyways (most people don’t like farming for them - the mount farming community is relatively niche). It’s a very repetitive and boring task to do over and over, on multiple alts. As someone who owns a lot of rare mounts, I do not at all care about being a special snowflake in a crowd. The only rare mounts that matter are ones from current content – anything from older expansions is far less interesting and prestigious, unless it’s a gladiator mount.
You don’t at all represent what the average person would want lol
A part of me will be sad when the Karazhan mount finally drops and I won’t have a reason to visit every week.
In addendum, the only ‘rare’ mounts that I’ve genuinely cared about recently are the Dragonriding ones, because they’re fun to upgrade, play with, and customize. Are they rare mounts? Nope, not at all. Some of their customizations are, but only really the Raszageth transformation (which is current content, so I think that’s fine that it’s rare). Mounts don’t need to be rare to matter, not so long as you enjoy using them.
