I think raids have been standardized too much actually, every raid since df has been 8 or 9 bosses, i want some 10+ boss raids.
Yea I want more more more raids. I dont care if each one has 30 bosses. I like raiding.
Honestly, bad idea.
We’ve tried splitting up raid tiers into multiple instances before (T11 in Cata, T7 in Wrath), and it just gets really annoying to fly around and re-group after you finish one and have to move onto the next.
Although too many bosses in a raid can get a bit tiring, I think raids do not seem as epic when there are too few bosses. They feel more like a dungeon.
Personally, around 8 bosses is the sweet spot.
What if we expanded the looking for raid system to allow a full pre-made group to “Q up” for any difficulty raid so that it teleports you to the instance?
It won’t fill a group but it teleports you to the instance once you have a group already made.
That just sounds like a lot of dev work to re-create walking to the next boss.
I personally wish they would bring back tiny raids for half patches and stuff, but that would be asking for more content and that’s too much to ask for lmao
I wouldn’t mind a single boss raid here and there, like Onyxia, Magtheridon’s Lair, etc, but I don’t want the short 3 boss dungeons like Trial of Valor or something. Even Trial of the Crusader was kind of cutting it, but that also had some other issues.
I’m pretty happy with the current raid boss numbers. when it was crazy was something like 13 bosses. I dislike the 2-3 boss raids, lately, as they tend to turn in to just another chore to complete, before moving on to the true raid or mythic plus.
Also pretty happy with the new method of giving players a buff each week as the season moves along.
I’m in favour or less trash between boss fights. Too much time consuming to get few golds.
No.
Do you even raid?
No. No. No. and no.
LFR sure.
If you want to do normal or heroic the. Join a group.
I agree with this. Trash is just a waste of time. A couple packs here and there to make the place look occupied, but massive trash packs that just turn it into a waste-of-time slog is annoying.
My nostalgia fondly recalls 12 hour long molten core raids.
My adult life says I don’t have time for anything over one hour.
I’ve not done structured raiding since Cata, but the smaller raids were always a nightmare herding people just for an hour or less of raiding. The only times I remember it working was when the raid was tied to something like PvP (Wintergrasp or Tol Barad). Those were never scheduled raid nights and we just did them if we logged on and had control of the area/raid.
They could just make the trash packs neutral with a few hostiles here and there if they want to keep the “feel”.
Someone didn’t read.
My proposal was that the thing doesn’t form the group for you, it only warps an already existing group (IE, one that you made yourself) to the instance.
I read it. Still isn’t a good idea.
And that’s such a waste of dev resources it’s a bad idea.
They already have these things called summoning stones outside the raid and a class that can do it.
You don’t need a group portal.
The raids are easy to get too
2 bosses is way too small. I dont even raid and I think thats no good.
I was recently told my TBC/Wrath experience no longer reflects the modern era, so i cant say what a good size is, but 2 bosses feels like too much ramp up for not a lot of payoff.
It’s a bad idea, why?
What would be harmed if you could just push a button and go to the instance?
Which is
A). A stupid archaic system 20 years old,
B). Requires 3 people to be there.
I’m sure most people would love such a thing, because it would save so much wasted time.
It’s still wasted time, and traveling for the sake of travelling is so 2004. It ain’t 2004 anymore.
There’s literally nothing to be gained by forcing everybody to go fly to the instance.
