I’m not into that hardcore stuff, I’ve tried it but between having a full-time job and not a huge deal of free-time outside of work I can’t justify restarting a character after hours of time invested. With this in mind, right at this point would you recommend a normal Classic server or a WOTLK one? Keep in mind I’ve never played through either and mostly stuck to retail, having only truly starting to get into the game in Legion. I love the philosophy and fantasy of both Classic and WOTLK but can’t choose between the two. What would you recommend?
Both are going to have considerably slower leveling experiences than you may be used to in Retail.
Right now in Wrath Classic, there is a Joyous Journeys event which gives 50% additional experience, so it’s more alive in the leveling zones than normal, and leveling is faster than normal.
Once you have an established character or characters at max-level, and fully geared for raiding, raid logging (only logging in for the week during raid time) is pretty common among people who regularly practice adulting.
Having said that, it’s really tough to say which you might prefer. I think that’s a personal choice, and either one is probably going to be a lot of fun.
