I kept playing with character creation to see all the different classes and races and deleting/remaking characters in FFXIV and I hit a “daily character creation limit” and now I can’t play anymore
this happened yesterday so I guess I have to wait until morning in Japan or something for it to count as a new day.
Meanwhile I just finished Castrum Centri, that bit of story was…unexpected
So cancelling my WoW sub was far more painless than I expected. I’ll be moving on to ESO now, I think.
Canceled mine last week; I have till the 20th. The funny/sad thing is I can’t even conjure up the motivation to log in and clear out my mailboxes.
Same, though mine expired on Thursday. In the meantime I’ve caught myself smiling on more than one occasion while playing FFXIV.
Are the quests good? I’m kinda stalled out on the main questline while I run around chopping wood and making furniture. Seriously I love the professions so much.
I’m really loving it so far, it just feels like a really great Final Fantasy game.
Sadly I’m the dumb bunny who shilled out for a six month subscription a few weeks ago, so I won’t be free of this monkey on my back till july, maybe august off the top of my head.
The story has lots of friendship and several lovely dinners between companions.
All I know is the boss lady of Gridania creeps me out. I’m sure it’s a fine character, based on the writing, but she’s animated completely without expressions and the VA sounds like a less convincing Siri.
Not really a spoiler, but all the VA’s change with HW when they moved their recording studios to the UK. Most of them get better.
But, yes, Kann-E-Sanna is very monotone on purpose. She is very much a forest hippie kind, though she gets some really good moments later (like current content later but it’s real good)
Also is it just me or are there A LOT of Bards?
Lower levels have a lot of people getting BRD for performances. They are super welcome at high-end stuff, too, but most seem to switch to RDM or SAM for DPS in casual end-game instances for some reason.
I’m leveling my BRD again because they are fun.
I will live and die by SAM both because it’s a pretty easy dps but also because I am a huge weeb.
Just to be sure I didn’t want to come back as much, I went ahead and uninstalled WoW before my sub ran out fully. This way, at least, it’s enough of a pain in the rear to dissuade me from considering it any time soon. My hard-drive is that much emptier now.
And done with the Umbral MSQ, that was a journey. Now onto the 2.1-2.55 stuff
Given what’s been going on lately? I don’t blame people for leaving. I still feel hard pressed to do so given all the investment I have in my characters… I’m so angry too, with all that’s happened and that damn CFO but …god damn it, how did it come to this??
It seems like all my friends are slowly filtering out and I honestly don’t want to play another MMO either. I’m hoping the ship can be righted still but …if this keeps up, I’m not sure my investment will be enough to keep me around either.

Fair enough. I won’t deny that there’s a part of me that wants to wait until the last possible moment just to see how badly it self-destructs which …feels like morbid curiosity I guess. But I hate that this is happening. I did see something about some twitter thing calling for the CFO to get fired? I think some of the people that got laid off are fighting back.
…I want them to win.
We’re in the middle of discussing the rules for a new ARK:Ragnarok RP server, Ariiah. Once the folks get the set-down on how many, and what types of dinos, and what tiers of technology we’re ‘allowed’, we’ll be putting out some cautious feelers for new folks for a 100-man server, after our last server kind of devoured itself when the Kingdom and Raider Clans just started ramping up their demands to ridiculous levels and when a bunch of us decided we were going to make a third group to claim the ‘Kingdom’ position after a village got burnt to the ground and all the dinos slaughtered after one Villager Player refused to hand over a pattern for an Ascendant-tier Fabricated Pistol, and then the server owner/mod kicked everyone out, deleted all non-Engram patterns and then demanded we all abide and let the Kingdom and Raider Clans keep bashing us around while they got ready for the quarterly War for control of the Kingdom, we all canceled our Patreons and are pitching in to a new server of our own, based upon a bunch of villagers, farmers and adventurers trying to survive a plague of Wyverns and occasional invasions by an Alpha-Tier Dragon every four months.
If and when we get the rules sorted out, we’ve already bought the server and there’s a good forty-so folks all chipping in $5 a month to the Patreon to keep the server upright, I’ll see if I can throw your name into the hat for folks to bring in.
