I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about this, but please don’t swap Chaos Incarnate and Inferno. You can nerf destruction (or at least the weaker Diabolist hero tree) if you want, but please don’t nerf us while saying it is a buff:
Chaos Incarnate is a very weak pure damage increase and other than Ruin and Devastation, it is the only 3rd tier talent that is purely a boring numbers increase. It has an almost 0% pick rate because every talent it competes with is far stronger. There are better ways to solve the MINOR issue of infernal being a 1.5 minute CD and Malevolence being 1 minute, like making Inferno a choice node with a talent that does not reduce the CD of infernal. Maybe a Hellcaller focused talent that makes infernal interact with immolate/wither?
But here’s why I think this change is insane. If blizz really really just wants to let us get Chaos Incarnate without getting Inferno, they could simple move Chaos Incarnate to below Ruin so that it is parallel to Inferno. But……this would ruin the symmetry of the Destruction Tree……which is not allowed despite not all spec trees being symmetrical??? But this problem could be easily solved by moving Alythess’s Ire to below Devastation instead of below Diabolic Embers. Ruin, Devastation, and Diabolic Embers are all near 100% picked talents, so moving Chaos Incarnate and Alythess’s Ire would not create any unintentional issues.
So unless Blizzard is lying and deliberately nerfing Diabolist Destro, this is the most senseless unintentional nerf ever. They are creating a new problem to fix a small problem when they could just as easily fix it so that there is no problem.

Seems like their motto atp.

The whole destruction rework from TWW to midnight is one of the worst ever, might be worse than going from MoP to WoD.

CI should be reverted back to 100%.
This.
TWW Destruction warlock was AWESOME! — Especially how you could have soul-fire with a swift cast proc and you could have such combined with Overfiend summon on top of that, it made it feel like it was woven in such a way that it was another enhanced Chaos Bolt. The playstyle was very fun.
If you combined that with channel demon fire and syngergised your procs well, it felt as enjoyable as Fury Warriors exciting proc chains
… Since the Pre-Midnight changes however!?
Very less so. Warlock’s Destruction spec feels so … bland now.
Yeah, it feels like Demonology gets most the love and Destruction + Affliction get shafted with BS changes
Similarly to mage, where Frost gets most the love and Fire & Arcane get shafted as well lol

My vote for worst class change ever was removing acrobatics strikes from outlaw.
To this day I still wonder why they did that

So they could make ret a midrange melee dps for some reason.

I can’t speak for others but I never look at patch notes, can barely ever tell if my spec changes.
I am a casual player though.
Not when our pets constantly bug out on bosses and in dungeons. Our Tyrant and Felguard straight up go afk on Vorasius, and will randomly start attacking the neutral batteries in NPX and training dummies in Caverns instead of the actual hostile mobs. Plus the bug where one of our Apex demons attacks random out of combat mobs is still going strong.
I mean pets in general go a bit loopy on Vorasius — My BM friend had the same issue.
- It’s not just Demo either, my affliction warlock also had the same issue, where my pet was just afk twiddling their thumbs

Then later on my frost mage it was a coin flip, where the water elemental would attack every few seconds, afk then go back to attacking. lol
That all said however,
Bugs aside – Demonology warlocks are still one of the top dps specs in both raids and M+
They took away KJ’s cunning and perma infernal, im sure they are just trying to cook up new methods of making Destro less fun. I’m shocked they haven’t taken away chaos bolt and given it to demon hunter yet.

KJ’s cunning should never have existed in the first place.
I know that I’m exaggerating by saying this is the “worst" change, I just can’t believe how poorly thought out this change is when there are such simple better solutions.
