I was kicked out of the game for a hotfix. After the hotfix the game errors out with “World of Warcraft was unable to start up 3D acceleration.”
How is it this happens immediately after a hotfix?

The short answer? Technology. Not everything is going to mesh with everything else all the time.
Rebooting Laptop seemed to fix it. Really strange, have never had that happen in all the years of playing. Thanks for the info for quick response @Ekon!
If it happens again, my first recommendation would be to check your video drivers and/or run the game as admin. Turning it off and back on again definitely does wonders for many things and might prolong symptoms a bit longer than the above, but just in case you want something sooner than that, depending on how long a standard reboot takes.
