World of Warcraft: Midnight What’s Next Panel Recap

Give an example of a feature reveal that wouldn’t be guided by a story they can’t share.

I don’t think September of 2026 is too early for an expansion coming in 2027.

Obviously I don’t know what’s coming in TLT, but I’ll give a list of various things from previous expansions that would’ve fit that description in the past:

Hero specs
Housing
Quality of life changes
Existence of a new class, if there is one, and the roles it can fill (though not necessarily it’s identity)
Existence of a new race, if there is one (though not necessarily it’s identity)

I know there’s more, but I just got home from work and that’s all I can think of atm.

So Blizzard? Do you know what a World 3rd Raiding Guild looks like? It’s not the same as a World First …check time. BC? No. World of Warcraft, before the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj opened. Look us up. “Surge” . Did you watch the character rolls tick from subscribed to “I don’t have enough time" for long enough? I bet you did. The questionnaires? What questionnaire? You were lucky to get into Beta testing? What Beta testing. It’s been 20+ years, and your Data analytics? They show more – and to the point – even less of what it meant to Raid …or play at all. If I had a real Gnomish engineering device (Because look up “Phorl”, dead Night Elf Hunter somewhere in your server banks) and well … ‘Jaina’ isn’t ready for War. And by Jaina, I mean …we’ll skip that. But you won’t. So really, No. You don’t know what works, what Raiding means anymore, and you certainly can’t wait for another $80 cash grab. As if World of Warcraft with no Vanilla tagging required (since there wasn’t any) was about money. Go watch your lines off YouTube and your own memories vanish. That’s what we’re all angry about. The “we’re” that used to make time for impossibly bugged encounters, stay up 3 hours too late for a GM response of “No” for the second or third time in two weeks. We’re not coming back and there’s no such thing as Forever anyhow. It’s been 20 years.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the sanest Classic player.

This is a figment of your / the forums imagination.

Classic style wow had millions of players and millions more than have yet to play.

Retail is not as popular as you think.

If there was one thing about Blizzcon I hated it was this.

Like you could have talked about some TLT features WITHOUT SPOILING the story!

Like new class/new race or whatever or maybe a teaser on a new battleground, something! Not just a shot of a giant Titan robot trying to destroy Wrymrest.

Just typical mindset that if they like something everyone loves it. I hate people like that. I will try it of course. My draw to anniversary was, I did not have time for any of the “cool” stuff in Vanilla and TBC and very little in wrath. Now they seemingly killed that. Otherwise I have to say i could care less about more classic

I just saw this a few minutes ago:

I’m really looking forward to getting that level 40 mount!

Thanks, Blizz, for ruining a long-standing character by once again killing them off, instead of actually showing the complexity of them and just destroying their story/lore instead.

Its head looks weird. Very flat, maybe they’re going with the top part of the skull only and no jaw (which makes reins problematic but …).

Looks great!!

What a lame 45 minutes.

Last names please like forever will have?
In game weddings like FF14?
Updated graphics for retail like forever?
Legecy system for retail?
Family trees?
Playable Amani?
Race housing exteriors like Pandaren?
Updated character customization like big, skinny? Maybe a booty and boob size slider?
New races? Tons of races in DND grab some of those like Kitsune
Classes? Samurai and Ninja maybe?
Whats on the other side of the world? maybe a teaser?

You all could have announced at least SOME systems without runing the story. This was total garbage.

“When my engineer salvages that thing, I’m only going to get a couple of bolts aren’t I”

Are you referring to Astalor. The way they spoke at Blizzcon didn’t seem like he was going to die. More like knocking some sense into him

Well, that’s a little better, I guess. As long as the story makes sense with his character. Which… they usually fail at.

I’m psyched for all this content but..

Can someone on the dev team please comment on the race/class combo disparity that has favored the horde for years now?

When you added velf dh to alliance that helped but the horde is still currently 2 ahead in race class combos and will have 3 more race/class combos when these new Paladin races options are added.

Why does the dev team feel it’s fine to give one faction no parity in race/class combos? Do you plan to fix this?

Why not worgen or pandaren? Why give the most popular class to the most popular alliance race?

So, you’re not interested in…

  • Mega-Delves called Labyrinths,
  • Armor-type restriction lift,
  • Talebound and the rewards that come with it,
    • Like the floating tome mount? (A model that was only obtainable once during Legion through the ‘Tour of Towers’ achieve for the Mage Tower challenge and was a completely unique 1/1 in the entire game)
  • Slapping the sass out of Astalor as a Nemesis,
  • Lorewalking with Thrall?

Sure it was a basic patch and season reveal, but you’re telling me none of what was announced excites you?

Usually you reveal the next Season with teasers of stuff further ahead afterward. As for the reveal itself, that’s coming in Spring 2027, so around March, April, or May.

Mmm, no, it is pretty early for feature details. We’re not even in Season 3. :dracthyr_shrug:

Edit: Blizzard also said on the panel that they cannot reveal more about TLT because then it would spoil Season 3 stuff in Midnight.

That was never on the table for this Blizzcon and it’s quite amusing so many people think it was.

Why do you keep bragging how good you are doing, you can’t even get Retail functioning smooth anymore… Blizzcon is over, Fix the problems everyone is telling you about NOW!? Hours on hours of world server problems… Not even a recognition it even exists.
