World of Warcraft is my favorite game

That was two days ago and the conversation progressed far beyond what you’ve replied to.

Why would you reply to my first comment two days later in a 160 comment thread lmfao.

Many of us have left the convo because it is a waste of time. No need to necro it

And? How does that make my comment invalid?.. :man_shrugging:

Am i not allowed to respond to old comments anymore because it progressed or something?..

Just read the thread. I can assure you, you will have nothing to contribute that has not already been covered. Have a good one

That’s what am i doing. It still doesn’t make my comment invalid as you said.

Though i can see why you want it to be invalid, because as i’m reading along… i’m starting to think you have issues that go behind on his definition of gamer…

So your definitions then? I mean your definition is also rooted in bias as well.

Uhh what?..

So let me get this straight here… I go and play a single video game… that means i’m suddenly interested in video games… plural.

I mean that’s like saying… I’m an The Elder Scrolls Fan because i play Skyrim, when really i only just play skyrim.

And what are you doing exactly?.. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yeah… That’s what you ought to do. It’s his opinion on what he thinks what a gamer is, and so is yours. Just because you say “i’m correct” doesn’t make it factual. It’s really just subjective opinions. :man_shrugging:

Telling you why WoW is their favorite game is trolling?.. I mean i don’t see anything trollworthy in that thread, it just seems like an ordaniary “i love this game” thread. If it’s FF14, i wouldn’t think any different about it, other then “Cool, glad you enjoy it, i just wish i can enjoy it.” :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Also…

I agree Swarf.

If it’s your last reply Cynyc, don’t announce it to the world, just be done with it.

Something tells me it’s not progressing here…

Casual assumes they are in the hobby but not as commited to it as normal or hardcore or don’t take it seriously. But even somebody who is a casual myself, i would hestiate calling somebody a gamer in a general sense if they just play one game.

That wasn’t his problem…

Oh i get what you mean by progressed. This is your sarcastic post replying to his sarcastic post.

So how does gamer does not?..

(in before the “Sweety Neck beard gamers” comment, that’s not what anybody thinks when they hear gamer. Unless you’re talking about Gamer :tm: )

Well since i’ve bought up mobile gaming… do you consider somebody mobile gaming for 10 hours a gamer?

Gosh, that’s not dismissive. Jeez.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh… how does this not invalidate your definition then?.. I mean you were treating it as if it’s some sort of objective fact earlier to him, the way you’re saying “i’m correct” to him. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

If i only play WoW, i call myself a WoW player.

If i play WoW in addition to the other games, i call myself a gamer.

Looking over Cursewords comment, i’ve noticed something in the definition he has pulled.

The definition in it has an S in it, plural. Implying more then 1 item.

I don’t know why you Cynyc are trying to use this definition or the definition that has a plural in it since it applies to a person who plays games, not a single game.

Oh deal with it. It happens all the gosh darn time. It’s inevitable. You make a comment on the internet, somebody will comment on it whenever they dang well please.

I left a youtube comment on a video like 9 years ago, and somebody commented it. And you know what i didn’t do? I don’t go “WTH MAN! YOU NECROED THIS!! YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO CONTRIBUTE!!”… i just respond to them like a normal person as if it were new. Age really is irrelevant here. :man_shrugging:

Well since i’m caught up on your convero, let’s proceed to my first comment since now it’s valid by your own rules.

No, I’m not going to read anything you’ve written because I don’t care.

Imagine putting in this much effort to reply to a dead conversation after someone in it literally said everyone has finished with the conversation.

Stop replying. It’s just annoying and sad.

You clearly do care, i mean why else you’re replying?..

Also good job skipping this comment.

I’m not forcing you to do anything here. I’m just simply leaving my responses since you clearly want me to be caught up with this conversation in order to contribute, and contribute i did. There’s really no need to be hostile towards me or assume i have control over you. However, i think you should stop trying to control what other people want to do with comments on the internet.

You’re acting like this is my fault that you can’t just be actually done with it or just… not respond… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Penumbrae, I just want to acknowledge how exceedingly well you’ve presented the facts on this overly plowed topic. You’ve explained things lucidly, so that anyone can learn and understand – if willing (some aren’t). You clearly are a student of the language and wield an erudite mastery of it. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this and just wanted to say so. :+1:

The best game ever made. There is no close second.

But you’re not reading along, because the plurality of the definition was already addressed (hint: its not required for the definition), and the point you’re trying to make concluded to be moot … by pretty much everyone.

This might be what Cynyc meant by:

If you’re gonna throw under-handed shade at me, at least be a man and address me directly. Its kinda comedic you resort to spewing this jargon after:

dont pretend to set an accord with someone if you’re gonna regress 1 day later like a weasel.

Apart from simply no longer being interested in this thread, I found it unlikely that someone who doesn’t know the difference between “their” and “they’re” would have much to contribute to this particular conversation.

They’re roaches.

they’re those types of soldiers that came to the battle of Waterloo 3 days after it was concluded, ready to fight …

after everyone has walked away, they start flexing to the empty field in front of them.

Some people can’t just walk away … then stay away; they gotta get that little ego-jab in.

Guy pinged me. I tell him to stop, he continues to ping me and edits his comments and then writes paragraphs after being told no one is interested.

Has the nerve to say I’m the one incapable of walking away.

Priceless.

Edit:

I’m honestly fine with everyone’s respective opinion. I lean towards yours, as you’re correct - what’s in the dictionary should be the bar. We’re all gamers here.

Would I have denied being a gamer if I played the game more casually and someone just casually asked me irl? Probably.

There’s the ‘are we talking about the actual definition of gamer and whether it’s technically correct to say “No, I’m not a gamer”’ and the “what any of us would’ve said in a niche social situation”. Of course, what each individual would say is likely different.

To the former, I believe you’re correct. To the latter, there’s no winner. So, end of convo

Some cockroaches produce milk.

Aco, you really didn’t understand what I was doing, did you. I was appeasing you.

You have ranted and raved and obsessed over this topic like a madman. It’s obvious to anyone paying attention that you’re psychologically troubled. I took pity on you. I was attempting to calm you by acknowledging that yes you’re correct in that someone who plays a game is technically a gamer by definition.

I never conceded the point though that myself and various multiple others have tried to enlighten you of; that being, ‘gamer’ can have a subjective meaning and is not definitively constrained to one perspective.

I no longer pity you. You’ve been proven wrong very adeptly and completely by myself and others. You may continue to persist in your delusions if you wish.

you just … you just don’t see what you’re doing and how it’s wrong. Or maybe you do and think we’re all too dumb to catch it. Either way, you’re a lost cause bud.

Then by all means, find someone more worthy of your attention. Thanks. :+1:
